Summary
An ex-mayor looking for a second chance.

A whirlwind
An interest turn of events and the perfect kink clicks into place. Another great story from New Gothenburg! I feel like this one is best read after Denial (or in series order) as the events from one follow on into this one. I liked the change and new adaptation and evolution of Stormy/Lane's relationship with Ross. They're so sweet together and bring out the best in each other. I liked the refreshing approach to Stormy's profession and the change in dynamics between Lane and Ross. I don't know anything about DD but I feel like there could or should have been more or some sort of aftercare. it's interesting, for me, that I loved their connection and dynamics but the s*x seemed a little colder than I expected and was not always my favourite part 😜
Really good narration on this one, thoroughly enjoyable voice!
I'm looking forward to seeing what trouble Mark is in for next!!

Two meant to be
This is a totally turn about story. It starts as Ross being the sort of alpha but changes. I enjoyed the story. I feel the characters bring some questionable behavior but overall the story held my attention. Ross before prison is strong and in charge with a devil may care attitude. After prison he becomes someone totally different. I felt for him. I’m not sure about Stormy. I liked his independent attitude. I liked his comebacks. I believe the narration by Barney Parkwynne helped the characters come to life for me.

One of my favorites brought to life!
I absolutely adore this story (and all the New Gothenburg books!) Ross and Lane are wonderful together and fit like 2 sides of the same coin. Barney did an amazing job with his performance and I love hearing these wonderful characters brought to life. 5 freakin huge stars!

Ross and Lane
I love the New Gothenburg series and was looking forward to seeing what would happen with Ross. The former mayor has fallen low. However, Stormy is there for him when he gets out of jail.
You will understand this story better if you have listened to City Hall 2 - Denial before.
I really liked the development and change that Ross and Stormy's (Lane) relationship made. An interesting kink as well as unforeseen twists and turns never let boredom set in. I didn't see that coming and the two authors did a great job!
This was already my second audio book narrated by Barney Parkwynne. He does a good job, but I had to turn the speed up to 1.35, even though English is not my first language. It was easy to distinguish the different protagonists because he used different voices.
And now I'm looking forward to the next volume in the City Hall series!

Ross and Lane
OMG, this has to be up with the best of New Gothenburg books. Ki and Meg, have outdone themselves. Superb narration by Barney. Mayor Ross, is into public sex acts, and finally gets caught with Cortisan Stormy, Ross goes to jail, and Stormy waits for him, when he gets out they move in together and Ross becomes Lane's houseboy. Really love how this story was approached. I felt sorry for mini Stormy and his friends in those tight leather pants. Highly recommend
