Summary

A shocking twist of fate reunites a quiet school teacher with her childhood nemesis and greatest love.

Shy and modest Lina Montez has been infatuated with Tobias Langthorne, heir to a Napa Valley land fortune, for as long as she can remember. Growing up alongside the intoxicatingly handsome bully on his family’s fabled vineyard and estate was an experience she will never forget. The young “lord of the manor” spent countless hours tormenting the housekeeper’s daughter as well as inspiring her budding sexual desire.

Ten years later, Lina finds Tobias as provocative and dangerous as ever, but embittered by divorce and haunted by his own demons of the past. Now Lina must battle her old playmate to save the land she loves, but this time she won’t be intimidated by her sexually magnetic business partner. The biggest struggle of all, however, is the one within herself. Can she fight off an attraction that is as ripe and full bodied as the lush cabernet grapes they farm? And will she breathe new life into the forsaken ranch as well as polish the rust from her tarnished hero?

Tobias Langthorne

This is the story of Tobias and Lina from their young lives through adulthood. Lina loved Toby but he was always mean to her but through it all she still loved him. He finally comes around and sees Lina for who she is as well as the beautiful Langthornes.

Logan McAllister did a good job narrating this story.

I received a code to listen and review and give my honest opinion. It's a 3 star for me. The story is a little long and Lina's love of repeating Tobias Langthorne throughout is a little childish but they get their HEA in the end.

Hot fun in the sun.

Valley Fever brings us a hot, second chance romance which is well narrated by Logan McAllister. It was hard at times to warm to Tobias whose brash attitudes were usually just there beneath the surface, but Lena's conviction that there was more to him than a smart mouthed bully, helped bring out his more redeeming qualities. I am sure you would not be bored with him around! Lena is sweet and loyal, though her insecurities don't always do her justice. I enjoyed this audio and will look out for more from both the author and narrator.

Amazing!

Ms. Bowen's steamy and detailed writing tugs at the heartstrings and is very hard to put down. The details place you right in the vineyard and you can almost smell the soil. The character development made me cry, scream, smile and laugh. Ms. Bowen never disappoints.

The combination of Ms. Bowen's writing with the sultry voice of Mr. McAllister makes this a very pleasant listen that I could not put down. I'm happy to know that there are at least two more books in this series, and I cannot wait to start the next one!

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

Sweet & Romantic

I enjoyed listening to Valley Fever, the first book in the Langthornes of Napa Valleys series. It takes a special kind of author to pen a true-to-life romance. Immediately, I connected with Lina and Tobias; they were real, complicated, and had their issues. Their connection was substantial and tension steadily grew. I was wholly impressed with Tessa Bowen's writing; the story was well-plotted with interesting characters.

Logan McAllister isn't my favourite narrator. However, I think he did a great job with Valley Fever, particularly with the different tones used for the various characters.

Fabulous narrator, really enjoyed the story.

First I have to say the narrator is fantastic. He brought the characters to life so beautifully. I enjoyed the story, it's an area of life I know nothing about and as such it really intrigued me. There were, however, several points I wanted to slap Lina up the side of her head and point out what was in front of her....I had to listen to the end just to find out what happened...

Good listen

This was a good listen! It was also a slow burn but the repition of Tobias name very irritating and his Tobias doing this Tobias doing that urgh .....I also found it odd that Toby referred to himself in third person. The story develops nicely ....

The narration was really good , never listened to this guy before but will look out further titles that he narrates .

I received this title in exchange for honest review. Thanks

Valley Fever

I loved the love/ hate roller coasters ride of this story. The story starts off with the guy aka Tobias being a douchbag, but in his defense he was a teenager/ young adult. Lina is a teenager as well and infatuated with Tobias.

The story well have laughing, crying and wanting to punch or slap some sense into these characters. Through out the story I found myself wanting to smack Tobias upside the head.

The story was very well written and the characters were developed to making you think this was a real life train wreck.

The narration of this book is amazing. The narrator does a fabulous job with the characters that bring them to life. Logan McAllister does an excellent job with the voice of each character! At first when I started listening I thought what type of voice is this narrator trying to this voice of Tobias he made it sound funny at the beginning. It took a little bit to get use to. When trying to make Tobias sound drunk if was off, but got better as it went.

I definitely recommend this book!

It’s a great story.

Enjoyed the story

I enjoy not only the story but the characters in this book as well. I did have to give it an overall four stars only because it wasn't a fan of how the character would often repeat names over and over in the book not sure if it was just how it was translated to narration or that's how it was an actual book. Like like I said the storyline in plot I both enjoyed there was just that one thing I couldn't quite get over otherwise I would have really loved it and given it five stars. The narrator I didn't personally have a problem with I did enjoy his voice and felt like he did a good job with the story. I I just feel like I might have liked this book better in the print form I feel like maybe something got lost and translation but again I did like the storyline and plot.

Loved

I fell in love with Tobias and Lina's characters they had so much chemistry. I kinda loved that Tobias was a complete jerk but somehow you love him anyway. Great second chance romance and I cant wait to dive into the rest of this series.

Irritating mutterings

I read this on audible. The story was ok. However, Lena's seemingly continual mutterings about 'Tobias Langthorne' was irritating to say the least!
