Summary

太田裕二(53歳)の職業は地方局のアナウンサー。
妻と大学三年生の娘と三人暮らしで、公私ともに平凡ながらも幸せな人生を歩んでいたが、心の奥底には学生時代からずっと引きずっているトラウマがあった。
野球少年だった太田は「将来プロ野球選手になる!」という夢を抱きながら高校生活の最後の夏、地方大会の決勝のマウンドに立っていた。
しかし「あと一歩で甲子園」というところまで来ていたにもかかわらず、無残にも打たれてしまい、プロ野球選手になるという夢は儚くも散ってしまった。
それから35年の歳月が流れ、心の傷となっていた一球に賭ける想いも薄れてきたある日、自身の番組で太田が発した一言がきっかけとなり世の中が急激に動き出す。
それと同時に、忘れかけていた太田の「プロ野球選手になる!」という夢が再び燃焼し始めるが――。
夢はいくつになったら諦めなければいけないのか? 53歳、中年男の挑戦が今、始まる!!
