二代目・桂小文治は大阪生まれ大正６年に上京、以来東京にとどまり大正時代は八代目文楽、三代目柳好、小柳枝とならんで「睦の四天王」。昭和に入って日本芸術協会のちに落語芸術協会の副会長として柳橋を助け、また上方落語の復興に力を注いだ。三代目桂文生は昭和三十八年小文治の弟子である二代目桂枝太郎に入門、故有って大師匠である小文治の元で修行、そこで体験したエピソードの数々、小文治師匠の素顔、大阪落語界の状況、東京における名人達の群雄割拠の場面について、落語フアンにはたまらなく興味深い話がたっぷり。聞き手は元ニッポン放送演芸プロデューサー塙宏
