Summary

舞台は戦時下の東京。ある日、伊沢は帰宅してみると、押入れの中に、隣家に暮らす白痴の女が隠れていることに気づく。そして困惑しつつもその白痴の女を自分の家に囲うことに…。迫り来る米軍機。空襲。どのような状況下にあっても、人は生きていくかぎり、孤独と肉欲の螺旋から逃れることはできない。人は他者と真の意味で理解し合うことはできるのか?爆撃により炎に包まれる街。その中を白痴の女とともに逃げまわる。女を置いて立去ることもできたが、それすらも面倒く感じる。人が物を捨てるには、たとえば紙屑を捨てるにしても、捨てるだけの張合いと潔癖ぐらいはあるだろう。白痴の女に対し、微塵の愛情もなかったし、未練もなかったが、捨てるだけの張合いもなかった…。たとえば女を捨ててみても、どこかの場所に何か希望があるのだろうか。何をたよりに生きるのだろうか…。 人は、なんと愚かで、そしてなんともの悲しい生き物なのか。しかし、それでも人は生きていかねばならない。 ※ 本作品は発表時の未熟な時代背景から、今日の社会では一般的でなく、不適切と思われる表現が含まれている箇所がございます。しかし作品のオリジナル性を最大限に尊重し、なるべく当時のまま忠実に再現することを優先いたしました。
