Summary
小林多喜二による昭和初期のプロレタリア文学の代表作の音声ドラマ化。蟹工船とは、戦前にカムチャツカ半島沖海域で行われた北洋漁業で使用される、加工設備を備えた大型船。蟹工船には航海法は適用されず、危険な老朽船が改造して投入された。また労働法規も適用されなかった。そのため貧困層から募集した出稼ぎ労働者に対する非人道的な酷使がまかり通っていた。情け知らずの監督は労働者は劣悪で過酷な労働環境の中、暴力・虐待・過労や病気で次々と倒れてゆく。昨今のブラックな職場、パワハラが横行する社会状況は、歴史は繰り返すという言葉通りだ。先人が苦労して獲得した権利も、獲得した側が無自覚になればなし崩しになることを、意識させてくれる作品といえる。
