About this listen
Having her own successful baking business literally fell into Harper Richardson's lap. She's strong, smart, independent, and well-rounded. Her life has already been figured out, and she is living it to the best of her abilities, along with her year-long boyfriend, Zaire.
Harper is given some news that stuns her, leaving her angry with herself for being so naïve. Zaire isn't the man she thought he was. Still reeling from that news, she decides to go and have a great time at the Houston Livestock Show. Her interest was only in the concerts happening, but a certain bull-rider steals her attention. Resisting him only makes her want him more.
Legend Semien, bull-rider extraordinaire and a legend in the making, has made his passion a professional career. He loves the risk and suspense of it all. Being in the limelight of the rodeo circuit, he's cocky and expects to be able to get whatever he wants.
While Harper and Legend are like night and day, they are attracted to each other like magnets. Despite the baggage and complications of their past lives, they attempt to get to know one another. Will they be able to leave their old lives behind in pursuit of a life together?
Contains mature themes.

Cute couple
This story had plenty of joviality. I loved the protagonists and the story line. The male narrator is a little overly dramatic at times, but still a good listen. I always love Mari.

Slow ride
Harper and Legend made a surprising connection which builds intentionally through the story with interesting traps to grab our attention. It seems like there are opportunities for spin-offs for the secondary characters. I sensed the way that Legend shares his love and protects his boundaries is important for the reader (me) to understand.

Just not good
I’m sorry to say, this was a terrible read. The characters were superficial and lacked depth. The storyline about the mum and sister and ex was random, we didn’t get enough of a back story of harper and her family to make it believable. The storyline about the cousin was just thrown in at the end. We could’ve done with a more in depth look into Legends bull riding, the wins felt hollow without it like you just didn’t care that he won.
Now, the narration… good god all mighty! Mari wasn’t too bad but at times she didn’t fit Harpers sassier personality so things she said didn’t sound right coming from her.
Marrion was AWFUL. So hammy, like he was reading Shakespeare. At times he sounded like Frasier and once I heard that I couldn’t unhear it. The love making chapters, yuck. Nothing sexy at all, in fact when he read them it was actually disturbing. Looool I’m sorry I have to laugh. One of the worst narrators I’ve ever come across.
Just over all not good. I hate to say it but it was bad.
