Summary
Alone! Kitty Donaldson’s marred face keeps her isolated from others. When offered the opportunity to be a mail-order bride to a stranger who refuses to leave his home, Kitty gladly accepts. After all, she’s always lived without friends.
Kit Randolph has been hideously scarred in a mysterious fire. Did someone purposefully burn down his home? His cousin Phineas suspects someone near to Kit is a murderer. How can he prove it?
Married to a man in a mask, Kitty begins to wonder about her husband. Who or what lies under the hood he wears? Why is she constantly shadowed by a companion? Worse yet, why is she equally drawn to her scarred husband and his handsome cousin.
What will Kitty find when her husband’s mask is removed? With a murderer on the loose, will she live to find out?

A great MOB Story!
When kitty loses her father the family lawyer tells her to visit his sister and become a mail order bride. She really has no other options so when the matrimonial agency center to marry a man named kit she is relieved. When she gets off the train it is foggy, Dark and is greeted by a short grumpy man. After no introductions she has put into the book board and is on her way to the big dark house. It is only when she meets her betrothed that she feels relieved and even better with meeting the companion he is hired for her Miss Marlo. The only problem is when she gets a glance at her fiancé‘s hands they are not scarred. Even though in his letters he professed wanting a woman who wouldn’t mind being touched by his scarred hands. Not only that he refuses to let her see his face. Things only get weirder when she meets his cousin Phin and feels as attracted to him as she does to her new husband. This book is so good it is a mail order bride story and a mystery in the romance and mystery or intertwine awesomely. I really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to read more by Marissa Masterson I have always loved her books and now that I can get them an audio I can’t wait to read more. I thought the narrator did a good job I love American western romances and this is one of the better ones. I am blind so please forgive any grammatical errors as I use dictation and sometimes it comes out wrong. My opinions are true and my own.

A mail order bride romantic suspense!
This is not your ordinary mail order bride story! Marisa Masterson delivers a fantastic story of mystery and new beginnings that captured my attention from the vey beginning! Kitty has always worn a scarf over her face. Marred, she never wanted people to see her. Given the opportunity to be a mail order bride for a man in a similar circumstance, she takes it on. Kit, her new husband who wears a mask, never spends any time with her. Things seem a little suspicious. But what is the deal? Who burned his house down? Why is his cousin Phineas around, and why is she drawn to both of them? I loved this story! A little romantic suspense creates the mood and takes us down a dangerous path until Kitty is able to find her happily ever after!
RA Richard brings it all to life. It's my first listen by her and she is fabulous! I love her voices and she tunes into her characters giving them their personalities. I will definitely watch for more from her.
