About this listen

Thorne Manor has always been haunted...and it has always haunted Bronwyn Dale. As a young girl, Bronwyn could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt's house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. After a family tragedy, the house was shuttered and Bronwyn was convinced that William existed only in her imagination.

Now, 20 years later Bronwyn inherits Thorne Manor. And when she returns, William is waiting.

William Thorne is no longer the boy she remembers. He’s a difficult and tempestuous man, his own life marred by tragedy and a scandal that had him retreating to self-imposed exile in his beloved moors. He’s also none too pleased with Bronwyn for abandoning him all those years ago.

As their friendship rekindles and sparks into something more, Bronwyn must also deal with ghosts in the present version of the house. Soon she realizes they are linked to William and the secret scandal that drove him back to Thorne Manor. To build a future, Bronwyn must confront the past.

this was a beautiful story

Well written, well presented and just a beautiful story. a historical romance that had been written with an innocence that felt refreshing. especially as other romance stories can be graphic. this story hits the heart strings and throw in a bit of mystery and supernatural activities, it ticks all my boxes. definitely worth a read/listen. now off to listen to the 2nd book

Predictable but readable

I did very much enjoy the story even though I knew what was going to happen. it was still a lovely tale of love, ghosts, time slips and mystery. The narrator read the story well but her English accents were way off which I found quite off putting. I found myself wishing she would just read it all in her own voice. I will definitely read the next two books though.

Officially one of my favourite books of K. Armstro

Light and romantic story with a twist. Beautifully written and performed. Highly recommend if you like romance, mystery and paranormal.

Interesting from Start to Finish

After reading lots of previous novels by this Author, I was eager to see what this held in store.
I was not disappointed.
I could picture these spirits described walking the moors, reliving their last moments.
There were enough twists to keep you guessing who the main killer was right until the end.

Good story, just no seamstress in story

enjoyed it, but had chosen it as assumed there was a seamstress or knitter in storyline. There isn't.

Terrible accents ruined the story

If I hadn’t paid so much to get the book I’d have given up on this part way in. The story is strange, full of English written in a ascribe sweet way that wouldn’t have been particularly true to the time period.
The absolute worst was the awful accents that meant to be Yorkshire but were a generic fake British/Irish/northern/galic/old times mash up . Really just awful.

Save your money or save your credit. I imagine the book is much better via kindle but definitely a regretful purchase and a painful listen
