Summary

Cases come in thick and fast for the veteran crime solver…

A student meets an untimely demise when she falls from Salisbury Crags in Edinburgh's Holyrood Park. Was she pushed?

Whilst DI Jack Knox is picking through the lies of the victim's friends, he is called upon to help the narcotics division on the other side of the city.

A drug dealer is dead and the squad is setting up a deadly sting. But without Knox and the clout he has among the criminal fraternity, they're unable to move against rival gangs.

But is all as it seems? Can Knox juggle the two inquiries and bring home the bacon?

A View to Murder is the fifth book in this bestselling series by Robert McNeill.

Enjoyable … but …

I do like these books which I am ‘binge’ listening to at the moment. They are pleasant books.
Stories are short and usually less than 5 hours listening time.
This book was ok but was lacking ‘something’ & even the excellent narration couldn’t quite bridge the gap. Still pleasant.

No great writer

His books seem more like a long episode of a police TV series than a novel. Narrator is one I enjoy but he struggles with the stilted prose and unnatural dialogue. Author doesn’t seem too familiar with Scots law. And Edinburgh students in dormitories sharing a room with 2/3 others!! What an insult to my old medical school..(1969-75) …if it’s come that low ..
