About this listen

When Cora is savagely murdered with a hatchet, the extraordinary remark she made the previous day at her brother Richard’s funeral suddenly takes on a chilling significance.

At the reading of Richard’s will, Cora was clearly heard to say: ‘It’s been hushed up very nicely, hasn’t it…But he was murdered, wasn’t he?’

In desperation, the family solicitor turns to Hercule Poirot to unravel the mystery.

Reliably Christie

A good story and a very good reading by Hugh Fraser. I have listened to it twice.

Love everything about this book

Agatha Christie and Hugh Frazer at their finest, I wish Hugh Frazer narrated the Miss Marple series, he is a much better Hercule Poirot ( audibly) then John Suchet!

After the funeral

As usual an excellent Agatha Christi. I enjoyed it so much that I kept repeating the last 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, as I didn't want to get to the ending! I extended the time to read the conclusion by using sleep timer so I didn't miss the final ending.

Hugh Fraser narrates perfectly

A little slower than other Christie's but still worth the listen. It's also interesting to see in 1953 how Britain was still strapped for cash after the war, high taxes, no eggs, and differing opinions towards refugees. Sounds familiar?

Enjoyed this greatly

Another in the AC cannon which I enjoyed. I’ve seen all the screen versions of it but I had Margaret Rutherford in my head. Murder at the Gallop is loosely based on this novel. Cracking simply cracking…
