Alastair Cunningham wakes up in hospital with almost total amnesia. But he knows that something terrible happened in his past, something that haunts him still. Gripping thriller
Atmospheric thriller, high tension maintained pretty well throughout, superbly & meticulously narrated, enriching even further the excellent characterisation and evocative Scottish setting. Denouement became slightly predictable but overall an excellent listen - highly recommended.

What a story!
One of these priceless novels with a beginning, middle and highly satisfying ending. Such an enjoyable read, utterly gripping. Had this in my library almost a year, have read previous books by Michael Ridpath, this one made me sigh with pleasure as I "closed the covers". Highly recommend it.

fantastic read, couldn't stop listening
what a great story, love the reader voice. would recommend this book and i liked the ending reference to the author and writing this book.
