About this listen

The Secret of the Oxpen’s Angel: Angel's Trap

Listen to one of the most gripping women's crime fiction novels here!

Paige left the only life she’s ever known in Cardiff to move to Oxford, hoping to escape her cheating ex-boyfriend Rufus, and start anew.

At Oxford, with some help, she swiftly finds a job as a research assistant to a retired yet eccentric professor, Hugh Eckland, and quickly discovers that the seemingly quaint atmosphere of her new home is only skin-deep, as unnerving secrets start to make their way to the surface.

Her life started to take a turn for the worst, as a series of anonymous and cryptic text messages lead her deeper into the shady underbelly of the university.

In the genre of suspense thrillers and crime fiction, no one comes close to the skillful way the author is able to portray plots and characters that take listeners to the edge of their seats…and keep them there.

A gripping, spine-chilling story brimming with secrets and lies. If you loved The Girl on the Train, or The Woman in the Window, then this dark, twisted, psychological thriller is guaranteed to have you spellbound!

Here’s what you can expect in her new book, The Secret of the Oxpen’s Angel: Angel's Trap:

  • A fast-paced psychological thriller that will leave you guessing at every turn
  • A frightening murderer at large, a suspicious Oxford’s Professor, and a series of anonymous texts: What would the fate of this young and smart woman?
  • A dilemma on who to trust: Who can Paige turn to for help when everyone around her has their own dark secrets?
  • And so much more!

Brace yourself as you go on a nerve-wracking journey into the lies and secrets of an unassuming town, and be ready to catch your breath as you navigate every corner of each character’s intentions…whether pure or not.

Interesting listen good story good narration

It took me a while to get used to the narration but then it worked for me and I just sort of escaped into the story. This was a short listen and just left me wanting more - so a great set up for book 2.

I do fully recommend listening. It did make me want to go to Oxford which isn't very far from where I live.

Thriller

I enjoyed the narration of Jen Ulman

Paige moves back to Oxford to her parents' house after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend. Coming home one night she is attacked and then a girl who looks like her is murdered in the same area.
This is fast paced and thrilling and keeps you on a roller coaster ride to the end, leaving you with a cliffhanger.

Fast paced psychological thriller

This is a fast paced, psychological thriller with good strong characters. It is the first part of the story and ends in a cliff-hanger. I found the story to be engrossing with a good plot and I what to know what happens next. I found the narration a little flat but easy to listen to. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

I devoured this audiobook in one sitting! The author masterfully weaves a complex web of secrets and lies, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Paige's journey from a vulnerable newcomer to a determined sleuth is both captivating and relatable.
