Summary
One of Britain's most prolific authors, Horowitz is known for his children’s fiction, such as the Alex Rider series, his mystery novels including Magpie Murders, as well as being a screenwriter and creator of series such as Midsomer Murders and BAFTA winning Foyle's War. Having begun writing around the age of 8 or 9, Horowitz always dreamed of becoming an author. He started writing professionally at the age of 20, and at 23, his first book was published. Horowitz was officially endorsed by the estate of Arthur Conan Doyle to be the writer of a Sherlock Holmes novel, and has also written a James Bond novel featuring material by Ian Fleming.
We’ll be chatting with Anthony Horowitz about Close to Death, the fifth installment in his Hawthorne and Horowitz detective series. We will be asking how Horowitz how he decides when he’s got a good idea, what the move from children’s to adult’s fiction was like, and why he chose to write a series with himself as a character.
