Summary
Amrit Kaur (The Sex Lives of College Girls) delivers a stellar performance in a brand-new enemies-to-lovers hockey romance by Sonya Lalli, the acclaimed author of The Matchmaker’s List and A Holly Jolly Diwali.
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?).
Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder. Devin is yet another arrogant hockey bro—and admitted total babe—who is fresh off a scandalous break-up with a global pop-star. But she soon finds the ice melts between them, and they share an unexpected chemistry. As Ash wrestles with her family’s demands, her brother’s career and her feelings for Devin, will she find a way to take a risk and make her own luck? Or will she puck this up?
This captivating Audible Original is an essential listen for fans of sports romance, strong heroines, sizzling chemistry and the diversity within the hockey community.

What a lovely narrator
The narrator got me settled from the start. Something about the cadence of her voice I found soothing. Now the story. loved it too, being able to relate to cultures that treat women like second class citizens. without any spoilers, this was a good read

Surprised
I usually sliten to dark/fantasy romance but thought I'd listen to something else for a change. I was pleasantly surprised that this novel had me gripped from the start. Brilliantly narrated and the story was refreshing, and ash taking back her power was just everything!

I thought it wasn't my thing. however....
I'm a trucker. I listen to books on the road I'm not allowed to touch my phone when I drive. I usually pick my title. set a delay of five minutes so I can get on the road, put my phone in my bag si can't reach. And audible plays my chosen title. It didn't. This book started. One of those happy accidents. a great read, right up there, great writing, brave writing and a fantastic narrator. I'm already looking for her next title

Very enjoyable
Well narrated. I enjoyed the look into a different way of life (but cultural and sports) and nice to have a book where I’m not roaring at the protagonists in my head either! Definitely worth a go and I’d not have regretted paying for it either.

Storyline and narration is perfect
Why this book is free I do not understand! The storyline is beyond great and totally relatable if you’re from a traditional Asian household. The emotions it brought up whilst listening to was unreal. Sonya Lalli is now on my favourite authors list. Highly recommend! Also the narration is perfect.

The narrator is just incredible
I liked the story a lot with all of its details and interesting characters. It's a very nice story with all positive outcomes and important messages to deliver. The narrator is out of this world! Kudos to her! She's really really good that she kept me focused and interested all the time; my eyes even watered on emotional moments 🥲 Thank you ❤️❤️
