Summary
“Those five months away. Where were you, mukka?” (Jack Harrison)
In the aftermath of Jack Harrison’s release from the psychiatric unit, Gray Raoul’s innate “born this bastard way” instinct is to brutally repay the one responsible for financing Jack and Jan’s torturous psychological reconditioning. But that person is a professional player in their own right, one who knows exactly how to manipulate everyone in Gray’s life. To help negotiate this delicate situation, Gray seeks to contract Trace and his ex-Diadem Dom, Gabriel Hunter. But the more Gray seems to regain control, the clearer it becomes that there’s something not quite right about Jan Richards.
As Jan’s world unravels, taking Jack and Gray with it and bringing out one particular deadly player, Gray’s left with one last defence: Break Jack down in order to partner up with Martin. But once freed, Martin’s out for retribution of his own, and he wants to get downright personal with Gray.
Complete trust between Master, sub, and lover, between Gray, Jack, and Jan - is about to be tested to the absolute limit.

Just...amazing
This book has been an emotional rollercoaster. I so want these men to be happy and able to pull together. Poor Jan has always seemed to be a bit distant from the other two because of their shared history, and he's been coping with too much on his own. At about 30% in, I literally felt like nothing could ever be resolved satisfactorily for them...just seeing problems piling on top of more problems...and I almost gave up.
Well...I am so glad I didn't. Suddenly, everything started to come right for me (because I am important too!) and the remaining 70% rushed past. I felt hopeful once again. What wonderful writing to wreak all these emotions from me and bring some light into all that darkness. (The 3 characters from Lynn Kelling's books are seamlessly integrated too.)
Once again, Dan Calley proves to be excellent in his many roles. The 3 US voices are confidently spoken and all are very different. When I read a chapter rather than listen, I hear Jack's voice clearly in my head. Amazing!

Keeps getting better and better
I’m always left with a serious book hangover when I finish one of Jack L. Pike’s books and it’s even more acute with the audiobook. I love the fast paced knife edge world Jack(Martin) Jan and Grey inhabit. There is so much to this book I feel like I need to listen to it again just to do it justice. It doesn’t hurt that I get to listen to Dan Calley’s lovely voice again either. This book is not only about finding out who was behind the attack on Jack and Jan but also about them being on the road to healing, finding each other again. Not easy especially if written by Jack L. Pyke. I love the hard fought for road in a story and this road is spiked.
Dan Calley is excellent as always and knows how to pitch it just right to keep me on the edge of my seat.

And the twists just get better
This one has really stuck with me and i know this is a series I’m going to have to revisit. The characters and the trust are just constantly being pushed to their limits and it is certainly intriguing to listen to. The narration couldn’t be better, I love the different voices and the pace of the narrator it adds an extra layer to this already amazing storyline

Keeps getting better
Again this series keeps getting better, more roller coasters and heartache but so well written, you just can’t put these book down.
Performance wise, Dan Calley has had a tough job portraying all that goes on with these men and he do it wonderfully well.
The story line is hard, but if your looking for something other than the usual HEA you will not be disappointed.
Just keeps getting better

Just stunning
I can’t get over how these books keep getting better and better. Just when you think you have it all figured out and Jack L Pyke throws few more twists in. Add some delicious kink, complex relationships and plenty of mind games and you have an awesome cocktail of pure literary pleasure. Then add some whipped cream sprinkled with chocolate tones of Dan Calley and I’m a melted marshmallow. Absolutely fantastic books with stunning narration.
