Summary
Rumors of a local ghost in small-town Geneva cause real distress for mystery novelist Kelly Clark at a time when her life is going great. She’s moving on from her troubled past, her books are selling, and she’s newly in love. But when a local dies across the street from Kelly’s apartment in the Geneva History Museum under suspicious circumstances, Nikki, Kelly’s sister, calls upon her to help figure out what happened. Despite Kelly’s reluctance to get involved with the investigation, she and her sister team up to try to solve the mystery.
Did a ghost really have a hand in the death, or are the sisters allowing a local legend of a haunting to skew their judgment? Their paths divided, Nikki focuses on opening a new coffee shop as Kelly is haunted by nightmares and memories from her past. Things get even more complicated as the Clark sisters face an unexpected pregnancy, a surprise proposal, and a possible foreclosure.
Her relationships crumbling, Kelly questions if she is really moving on with her life, or if she’s just fooling herself. Can Kelly leave her past behind and focus on solving the mystery? Or will Kelly continue to be plagued with nightmares and run away from everything good in her life?

Coffee and Murder
Kelly is getting over a messy breakup in the small town of Geneva when a friend is murdered. Over copious amounts of coffee, fledgling relationships and writing her own book, Kelly turns amateur detective and investigates. But could the murderer be closer to her than expected. This was a great listen and I was invested throughout. This is the second book in the series but it is easy to understand if this is the first book you’re reading like I have and can be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to more.

a good cosy mystery
An entertaining story. The characters have their issues but are relatable. This time a ghost may well be responsible for a death! A strong story with dark elements. Kelly and her relationships with her sister and Jake is an added interest.
Very good narration as well.

Really entertaining story
A really entertaining story. Annie Hansen writes unusual cozy mysteries with characters who have doubts and issues but are also really relatable. This time is a vengeful ghost responsible for the death of a museum employee. A strong story with an unexpected culprit. I am loving these books. Amanda Fichter does a fine job with the narration

Really enjoyable listen
This was a tightly written book and it was narrated well. I like the way the book is not just a normal cosy novel and there are elements of peril and darkness. Kelly does a lot of self analysis, maybe blames herself too much but is growing as a person and her relationships with her sister and Jake, which makes it so interesting.
The town of Geneva became a another character in the book, the historical element was very interesting.
The cover suits the story to a T with the 5th teacup.
