Summary

Meet Edith, a strong-willed woman who has a husband named Alfred. They are surrounded by friends and neighbors in a small village in England. But all of this changes when their village is taken over by thieves. These thieves stole her people's precious possessions and killed almost everyone.
Edith was saved when a mysterious man named ásbjörn ordered her release. ásbjörn took Edith into his strong arms and took her on the ship back to his home with the rest of his people. Usually, she would have been made a slave, but ásbjörn thought Edith was special. He felt a strong attraction toward her and learned her language so they could talk. Though Edith was scared, she felt an unexplainable attraction to him; he made her heart beat fast and her body shiver. She almost felt like she could trust him - like he would protect her. She couldn't explain why she would feel this way; after all, he was with the thieves who killed her loved ones.
