About this listen
I’ve been counting down to summer—finally, a chance to escape. After a brutal hockey season, all I want is peace and quiet on my new ranch. But a streak of bad weather traps me with my neighbor, Terra White, and suddenly, solitude doesn’t seem so appealing.
Terra’s got a spark I can’t ignore, even though I keep telling myself to. She’s funny, adventurous, and easy to be around. But her father is a different story. Disapproving and overprotective, he’s made it clear he thinks Terra deserves someone who won’t let her down. After my own failed marriage, I’m not convinced that’s me.
Back in the city, I can’t get her out of my head. I message her, and our friendship grows over late-night calls and texts that feel like they mean more. I know Terra wants a love that lasts, but I’m not sure I can live up to her family’s expectations—or my own.
Letting her in means risking everything, and I don’t know if I’m ready to take that leap.

Forced Proximity
Tara and Cam meet under unusual circumstances, and they have a bit of a tumultuous beginning.
They have chemistry, but they are both a bit stubborn, and judge each other a bit harshly out the gate.
But eventually good manners and chemistry win out. They start out as friends, with some forced proximity pushing some boundaries.
This was full of pushed boundaries, new friendships, overcoming pasts, and a lot of adventures.
Cam is sweet, charming, caring and fun. I love how he adores Tara and wants so much for her.
Tor Thom & Amanda Stribling both did a great job narrating this story and bringing Cam & Tara to life.

GK Brady does it again!!
This series is perfect for hockey romance fans, and worth listening to if you think you’re not. Every time I finish one of the books in the Playmaker Series, I can’t wait to dive into the next one. Perfect narration, strong characters, adult dialogue and story line come together in another goal for this author! I really appreciate that the female characters are strong, independent, loving, and whip-smart. The banter is always fun and engaging. The professional hockey players always have their guards up at first, as being a celebrity in their world can be fraught with over eager fans, gold diggers, and the unpredictability of a pro career. Watching the players grow into love and family life is beautiful to behold. Highly recommend!

Can & Terra
I enjoyed everything about this book. It’s characters interactions, it’s low angst, the fault wasn’t all on one person, how quickly things get resolved. The narration is fabulous, I love their characters personalities. I definitely recommend this book/series.

4.5 Stars!
Great addition to the series which I’m still loving! 💕
Besting the Blueliner is the eighth book in The Playmakers series. Here we get to see Cam Blue and Terra White find love up in the mountains. Cam Blue loves his alone time. He is a first line defenseman for the Colorado Blizzards and after he helps them win the Stanley Cup, he can’t wait to spend the summer in solitude in the Colorado mountains. But when heavy rains leaves him stranded alongside his attractive neighbour Terra, sparks start to fly!
Cam is feeling conflicting emotions; he is delighted at winning the Stanley Cup, but is also having feelings of sadness and anger at the way his previous marriage ended. So Cam has sworn off women for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, Terra is taking a much-needed break at her family ranch. Helping in the running of her family business and also feeling suffocated by her overprotective dad and brother is a lot, and is getting to her. Also, been inexperienced with relationships and finding herself in a complicated situationship, she has also sworn off men for the time being and is ready to relax in the mountains. When they find themselves stranded without electricity and little food, they are forced to stay together. This leads to them developing a friendship and later a lot more.
This was such a cute slow-burn romance. Watching Cam and Terra fall for each other was such a joy. I loved seeing both Cam and Terra come out of their shell; Cam, after previously been burned by his ex-wife is finally open to finding love again. Meanwhile, Terra who hasn't had the best record with relationships finds something special with Cam.
This was so much more than a sports romance. I also loved how the author dove into the family details and dynamics. I especially loved seeing the growth that Terra had with the situation between her and her dad and brother. Overall, this was such a joy! I really am loving the series and can’t wait to continue onto the next book!
The audiobook was narrated by Amanda Stribling and Tor Thom. They were a joy to listen to and they made the story even better and brought the characters and story to life!

Lovely sports romance
The way they met was both hilarious and romantic. As they get to know each other, they both challenge each other and grows as persons. I love the way she's both strong, independent and capable and the way she cares for her loved ones. Cam is the brooding, wounded hero with a softness inside, few gets to see and she brings it out. I really enjoyed this story.

Cam and Terra!
Cam was recently traded to Colorado where they ended the season by winning it all. After his divorce he prefers to spend time alone rather than socializing which is why he finds himself at his remote cabin with his dog Grace when he hears a plea for help.
Terra loves her brother and her father but working and living with them especially when they only see her as someone to be protected is challenging. She is looking to some alone time in the family cabin until an ATV accident requires Cam’s help. At first she isn’t sure what to make of his grumpy attitude but as she gets to know him the friendship they are forging begins to feel like so much more.
The relationship between Cam and Terra unfolds slowly as he is still trying to heal from his past and she is facing some challenges in the present. He is always there when she needs someone, and she brings a happiness to his life like he has never felt. The narrators were a great match for the characters as you can feel the insecurities they are experiencing as well as the depth of their feelings for each other.

Love this series!
These hockey players are so much fun to get to know. Each one has their own personality, but the thing they have in common is their love for the game. This is Cam's story. Off season, he enjoys going to his mountain home to enjoy the quiet, until one day he comes across Terra. Stuck under her ATV, he helps her out and a new friendship is born. But while the attraction is strong, there are obstacles which could place them strictly in the friendzone! Family, work, bad communication, past relationships, it all plays into this thing called life. The question is, will their new budding relationship be able to stand the test? I loved these two. Why? Cam is sweet, a little grumpy and not afraid to go after what he wants. Terra is a bit scared and unsure how to make that family break. It's packed with good hockey fights and spicy nights! I enjoyed this one!
Tor Thom and Amanda Stribling are our story tellers for this and they tell it exactly as it should be! Thom breaks out in the beginning with his grump on, but quickly melts as his feelings for Terra grow. That doesn't stop his hot head from escaping though every once in a while! Terra is sweet and loyal and Stribling brings out her naivete, keeping her passion strong right along with her stubborn streak! These two are fantastic together and made this listen!

Loved Cam & Terra’s story
Another fantastic listen from GK Brady, sweet & spicy. In the playmakers series, this is the turn of Cam and Terra’s story, suspense, heart ache, over protective families and love a plenty!
So worth your time to get involved in this series. Just brilliant!
