Summary
Jenna O'Conner is not human, nor is she considered the norm for the supernatural Other community that is benevolent enough to share this world with the humans. On her first day as a member of the Wilmington Police Department's SWAT Team, Jenna runs into trouble in the form of a deadly, mouthwatering man named Adam McPhee, who is also not human. He is determined to figure out exactly what Jenna is, which could very well put her life in danger. Furthermore, he is determined to have her all to himself.
As if that weren't enough for Jenna to deal with, a group of extremist Shifters who consider humans to be cattle and who think that factions of Others should stay within their own species - never to intermingle - come to town. Jenna has to find a way to shut them down, but in the process of trying to do that, she discovers things about herself that even she had never thought were possible. Contains mature themes.

What happened to a story
Would you try another book written by Jessie Lane or narrated by Chandra Skyye?
Although others have commented negatively on Chandrasekhar Skyye's narrating it's generally ok but I do agree that her male voices are a bit strange.
The book overall was lacking in story line but full of mild sex scenes. Even in the middle of crisis they took time out for the main characters to have considerable time to have sex.
What could Jessie Lane have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
More story!
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Practice male voices to make them more realistic.
Did Big Bad Bite inspire you to do anything?
Puke and skip bits!!!!!

Sadly let down by narrator
What would have made Big Bad Bite better?
Jenna is a young, feisty "other" with a secret that has kept her in hiding for her entire life, but this strong character wants to get out and live - which of course gets her into all sorts of trouble. This tale would be an easy and appealing read but is unfortunately let down by two things: 1) the narrator who tries to give different voices to the (mostly male) characters but slows the pace so much that it is difficult to keep track and continue listening; and 2) sometimes the story focuses for far too long on a scene or a line of thought from the character. Get on with it, already!
Would you ever listen to anything by Jessie Lane again?
I think I will look for Jessie Lane's books in the Kindle library from now on.
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Chandra Skyye?
I have only listened to three other audio books so far, so can't recommend an alternative narrator (Penelope Keith is fantastic but not really the right person for this genre!).
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Big Bad Bite?
See first comment.
Any additional comments?
Couldn't finish this one - definitely Chandra Skye needs to review her method of portraying characters!
