Summary
A prequel to The House by Chambray Blue.
Dorothy’s life moves her from South Dakota’s 1932 Dust Bowl experience, into a more lavish existence living in Boston, while she struggles to find peace living with an abusive stepfather. Her eagerness to vacate the toxic lifestyle she has become familiar with lands her into the arms of Dudley McCartney, a short sailor, entranced by Dorothy’s stunning beauty and carefree ways. Dudley wastes no time making the enchanting Dorothy his wife, and thus Dorothy’s journey commences.
In her later years, as she struggles to find ways to free her mind from a past filled with heartaches and regret, Dorothy’s diagnosis of dementia prompts her son, David, to equip his mother with a rescue puppy, in hopes that her sound mind will return to her and that she will be rehabilitated through the love and companionship of her new friend Charlie. But Charlie’s mission does not stop in assisting Dorothy. God’s purpose for Charlie goes beyond being Dorothy’s saving grace and into a world of angelic placement in the lives of others in need of a touch from the Father’s messenger of hope, dog.
Blink: If Love Had a Face is a must-listen after listening to The House.
