Summary

The islands of Britain and Ireland hold a rich heritage of plant folklore and wisdom, from the magical yew tree to the bad-tempered dandelion. Here are traditional tales about the trees and plants that shape our landscapes and our lives through the seasons. They explore the complex relationship between people and plants, in lowlands and uplands, fields, bogs, moors, woodlands and towns.

Reminds me of the old countryside

A lot of tales are variations of the ones I grew up on. Amazing the author really takes you to these magical places.

A cozy, comforting listen

I listened to the entire thing at work today, and enjoyed how easy it was to drop in and out of as I had to pause occasionally. I learned a lot and could almost dream myself away to the uk

intriguing stories - fantastic narration

wonderful stories for adults and children alike, although some darker than others. It took me back to sitting cross-legged on the story carpet at school (thanks Mrs Bagwell!) Hopefully these stories will inspire writers to write, readers to read, and wildflowers to be loved.

Interesting stories

I rather enjoyed this book. The stories, history and parts of the UK. Being a lover of nature and a learner of medicinal herbs etc, this was an interesting listen.

Pure coziness

This audiobook is the definition of a comfort read (or listen in this case). There's just something very nostalgic about it that reminded me of the stories my gran would read to me when I was a child, and the narrator only added to that feeling. I think this will be one of the few books I go back to time and time again because it's just very warming and comforting and I think we could all do with a bit of that these days.
