Summary
This is the story of how Olivia turned the physical challenges and emotional hardships she had faced since she was a little girl into an engaged life of advocacy for others.
So many young people are faced with life-changing hardships—from illness and disease to loss and calamity. What Olivia Goodreau discovers through her journey with chronic Lyme, and what she has been sharing with the world, is that inside of every predicament is also a possibility.
Critic reviews
"I want to thank you for all the great work you are doing." (Mark Hamill, actor, Star Wars, The Mandalorian, The Sandman)
"Olivia is a 10-plus year survivor, a true inspiration, and has done more in her short life so far, than most ever do in a lifetime." (Ryan Sutter, ABC's The Bachelorette)
"This book will make you stop in your tracks, pay attention, and captivate your heart in a deeply emotional way. It's a story beyond Lyme disease—but a story about a child who grew up having to fight for her life." (Ally Hilfiger, artist, designer, Lyme activist)

A young girl’s remarkable Lyme journey
Lyme Disease is a debilitating illness. Olivia Goodreau’s account of her life struggling with a mystery illness at the age of 7 is heart breaking. She saw over 50 Doctors in one year and they didn’t diagnose her. Her description of her campaign to raise awareness about Lyme with politicians whilst at school is commendable. I am full of admiration for Olivia and her family’s perseverance and eventual success, in spite of the terrible bullying she experienced at school. If you’ve never heard of Lyme Disease please read this book - and if you have heard of it you will still learn a lot. In her short life Olivia has made an enormous difference to Lyme sufferers through her LivLymeFoundation which funds treatment for children. As she says, hopefully in 10 years time there will be a cure and her work will then be done.
