About this listen
Cows are better than people–a fact I've sworn by until the irresistibly upbeat Molly comes barreling into my life, running my farm stand and bringing the summer heat with her.
She's also working for Fork Lick’s most debt-ridden business: my family's farm. I try to stay out of that manure pile. Except the crush I have on her makes me think about doing things like smiling all day and patching up my relationship with my brother.
And then I learn she has a thing for me in flannel and we’re on fire between the sheets. Just when I think Molly might be having feelings for me too, old pain comes bleating back in–this was all a set up and I’ve been played.
Butter You Up continues the Farm 2 Forking crop of laugh out loud romantic comedies set on Bedd Fellows Farm.
Get ready to grab life by the teats with an a-derp-able farm dog and baby goats galore with this hilarious and heartwarming romance by Liz Alden.

Udderly fantastic!
I am loving this series. These Bedd men are so completely different but so easy to love. Liz Alden takes us on the journey of Alex and Molly. Alex loves farming, and while his brother runs the family farm, he runs the neighboring farm, Udderly Creamery. They have a small store is in need of help. Molly is fulfilling her dream of going cross country, but now has to stop to get some work done on her van. To help finance it, she applies for the job at the farm, planning to stay for the summer. Instant attraction between these two, but Alex is a tough nut to get through to. He keeps to himself, and is a man of few words. Molly is the opposite, very talkative, a little quirky and extremely friendly, taking on the store and winning sales! But when it comes to love, will she win over this man? Finding out the brokenness of this man, what he endured and the impact it has had on him may be the end of everything! How does it end? Give this a listen! Seeing Ethan and Lia, and especially Gran has given this that feeling of family and coming home. Loving this series, and I can't wait to dive into the next book to see what happens next.
Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge continue their narration of this series, and I am loving th4eir collaboration. Mallon is Molly, and she finds the essence of her, creating a character that is easy to love. She makes her the friend I know I would love to have. Haynesbridge is the grumpy Alex, and he is fabulous. Alex needs that underlying pain in his voice and it's captured perfectly. I loved this portrayal of the couple, plus the continuity of voices from the first book making a fantastic listen.

Silly puns and great narration
5 stars because I love silly puns and unique characters (like "van lifers" with eczema). I also liked that Alex had to work through some stuff with his family and it wasn't all just relationship drama.
Butter You Up is the second book in the Farm to Forking series. It can definitely be read as a stand alone, which I know because I personally started with book three in the series and it was fine. However, you do get some additional background on Bedd Fellows Farm and the other characters if you start with the first book.
I listened to the audiobook. Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon did a fabulous job with the narration. Their performances added another element of fun to they story.
I received a copy of the audiobook at my request and the opinions here are my own.

Alex & Molly
Alex is grumpy, Molly is all sunshine and rainbows. They could not be more different but as opposites attract, their chemistry was noticeable early on in the book. This book picks up from where the previous one ends in terms of saving the family farm. There’s a few revelations that explain Alex’s distant behaviour. With Molly’s help Alex starts to open up and make amends. Also, he has a very (good) dirty mouth!!!
Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge deliver Alex and Molly brilliantly.

Small Town Romantic Comedy
This is the second book in the Farm 2 Forking series, a small town romantic comedy. This is a multi-author series. I love this series! Alex and Molly's story is sweet, fun, and heartwarming. They are opposites attract, and they are perfect together. I liked this grumpy/sunshine romantic comedy. Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it.

Butter You Up
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️
3🌶️🌶️🌶️
Butter You Up is the second book in the Farm 2 Forking series. This book seamlessly flowed right into the second story. I would have never known it was written by a different author than book one. This is a grumpy- sunshine, opposites attract, dating the boss romance. Molly and Alex couldn’t be more different. Molly has been traveling across all 48 of the 50 United States. She has a camper van named Vaniel that has made this possible. She makes an arrangement with Ethel, Alex’s grandmother. Molly has agreed to work on the strawberry farm on the weekends and Alex’s shop during the week, for the summer. Alex feels like the outcast, black sheep of his family. Alex runs the local dairy farm and has a local egg and milk shop. Molly is bubbly and Alex is quiet and sometimes awkward. Molly never meant to fall in love during her trip. She thought she was only staying for the summer. I can’t wait to start the next book.
Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge did a fantastic job narrating this book too.

Small-Town ☑️ Opposites Attract/Grumpy-Sunshine ☑️ Boss-Employee ☑️
Butter You Up is book 2 in the multi-author Farm 2 Forking series. It features Alex Bedd and Molly Perkins. We are first introduced to grumpy and broody Alex in book 1. He is one of the Bedd siblings (Ethan from Book 1’s brother). He currently works at Udderly Creamy Farm, not his own family’s farm and he has a complicated and tension-filled relationship with his brother Ethan. Meanwhile, Molly is living her best van life. When her van requires some repairs, she decides to make a temporary stop at the Bedd Fellows Farm for free parking. In exchange, she offers to work mostly at Udderly Creamy Farm, but also sometimes at the Bedd Fellows Farm. Her boss at Udderly Creamy farm turns out to be Alex. They both try to fight their attraction for each other, but end up falling regardless.
This was such a cute story with heartfelt moments. I am really enjoying this series and book 2 did not disappoint either. I especially loved how Alex and Molly’s growing closeness and relationship were depicted throughout the book. The writing blends witty dialogue and humour mixed in with some heartfelt moments. Plus, their chemistry is undeniable. There are also dramatic moments when underlying family tensions come to a head between Alex and Ethan as they finally have to deal with their issues and maybe attempt to mend their contentious relationship.
Overall, I had such a fun time reading/listening to this. It was a cute small-town, opposites attract/grumpy-sunshine, boss-employee romance. I just loved Liz Alden’s contribution to the Farm 2 Forking series. Butter You Up can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading the books in order, as there is an overarching storyline with a lot of interconnected information given throughout the books that works better when read in order.
Duet narration provided by Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon. I am loving their narrations in this series. As always, Haynesbridge’s does well with grumpy and broody so he suits portraying Alex so well. Mallon also shone in her role as the fun and bubbly Molly. I highly recommend the audiobooks of this series.
