Summary

When Wesley O’Keefe first realized he didn’t age, he could’ve been hung as a witch. Now, he’s eager to be studied by a microbiologist looking for a cure to cancer. All Wesley wants is to share his miracle with the world. In the year 2042, technology has made it almost impossible for him to assume new identities, and after 300 years, he’s tired of watching loved ones wither up and die.

Yet, opening that Pandora’s Box does not come without consequences. Powerful people will do whatever they can to hoard this miracle for themselves—no matter whom they have to step on, ruin, or kill. From bioterrorism to neural scans and artificial intelligence, they will use whatever means are available to them to meet their end. Wesley’s past will catch up to him in ways he could have never imagined, and he will find that he has more to lose than he ever knew.

When the superstitious past meets the technologically progressive future, ancient grudges can be catastrophic, and agelessness can spread like a virus.

What an awesome awesome thriller!

Wesley has been alive for hundreds of years and although a loner when he gets photos in the mail of an old friend and his niece he goes to see the old friend in a retirement home. Coincidentally his friends niece is a doctor and is currently researching viruses . Wesley has thought many times of letting scientist find out why he lives so long and others do not. Phone however government gets wind of what they’re up to and the doctor gets drugged and taken in to the “FBI.“ Reports over Wesley will be arrested as well but not before he reunite with his dad finds out he isn’t the only one who lives beyond his years. Pretty soon it will be a race for the answers and everything will depend on they find out but this time when battling trouble he will not be alone like in the past. It seems this is a great thriller it was even better than I thought it would be. I loved Skyler Morgan’s narration I loved how the story threw so nicely and quickly it has smart writing and a dialogue that keeps you wanting more. If you love futuristic books this is a great one although it’s just a technology that is a dance the author was still really good at staying true to the time. I can’t say enough about this but I judoka loved it.

Confused

I found this book very different from my usual read/listen. There was so much happening I did lose my place a few times. This is definitely one that needs concentration. A brilliant performance.

life

I love the narration of Skyler Morgan, he brings out the suspense and emotions. You can feel the angst and characters.

In the future at a time where everyone is given a quarterly bundle shot, this shot is designed so that nobody gets the flu or any other similar viruses. But an evil force has included a deadly virus in the bundle shots given to more than half of humanity.

Wesley, finds himself immortal, but not invincible. This is condition is either a blessing or curse with this condition and makes him one of the Children of the Yew. He outlives those around him, including friends and family.

A great paced book.
