Great story line
Poor narrator, who made it difficult to recognise different characters and their emotions and personalities.

Good overall but......
too many love triangles, too much unrequited love, too much kissing. The rest of it - pretty good.

When you find yourself caring what happens to a character, I think it's safe to say you're hooked! Already downloading the next book. I can still sense the YA audience grabbing bits, but they're less jarring as the story progresses, and in a way it's very pleasant to throw back the years to my teenage emo. In another way, it's horrifying! Still, can't hang about, got a story to get to!

A Sequel that doesn't disappoint.
City Of Ashes continues the story of the Shadow Hunters begun in City of Bones. It rattles along at a fair pace, perhaps even faster than its predecessor. Again it ends with loose ends waiting to be tied, It still leaves the reader both satisfied and hungry for more.

City Of Ashes
This book continues the story begun in City of Bones and is, in my opinion, every bit as spellbinding as the first. Jace and Clary are beset with enemies on every side as Valantine continues his quest to claim the mortal instruments as his own. In these dark times, Jace and Clary are uncertain whom they can trust, and they must deal with personal demons of their own. Beautifully written, at times achingly powerful, this book is every bit as gripping as the first.
