Summary

Agent Bradly "Wolfe" Tucker has one case he cannot solve: six murdered women and a cold trail leading nowhere. When bodies with an eerily similar MO show up in Philadelphia, he volunteers to assist with the case. He figures he will spend a few days in Philly, hand the case off, and head back to his life in Seattle. But everything changes when he stops at a local bar, looks across the room, and sees her.

Agent Leda Bailey has had a bad week. She has three dead women and no trail to follow. The clues don't add up, and nothing makes sense. So, she heads to her favorite bar to forget about the case for a few hours. When he offers to buy her a drink, she thinks this just might be the distraction she needs. The encounter turns into a weekend. Leda thinks this might be something so much more, but can she really let down her guard enough to let him in? He wasn't supposed to fall for her. He wasn't supposed to stay. But he loses himself every time he looks into her dark eyes.

He was Wolfe to his former SEAL team, Agent Tucker to FBI colleagues, and Tuc to close friends. But he wants to be someone else for her. Will she let him into her carefully guarded world? Or will she run when she realizes how damaged he really is? Friends tease him about his protector complex. They might be right. Because he would do anything to keep Leda safe. Even give her his heart.

Leda Bailey accepted long ago that no one will see beyond her disability. When she meets Tuc, Leda realizes she wants more than just a one-night stand. But how does she let him behind the walls that keep her safe? Will she lose herself if she lets him in? Or is opening her heart to Tuc the key to finally being truly safe?

The Omega Series is intended for mature audiences over the age of 18. Parental guidance and caution are suggested due to possible triggering situations, including but not limited to strong language, alcohol consumption, violence, sexual situations, and depictions of trauma.

Terrific Story! Amazing Narration & Series Start!

This is my first book written by J.R. Tottill and I enjoyed her writing style, the originality of the story she created, all its layers, as well as the complexity of the characters. The story not only grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire time, but it tugged at my heartstrings too. This story brings together two FBI agents working on the same serial killer case, Agent Bradley “Wolfe” Tucker, aka Tuc, who works in the Seattle office and Agent Leda Bailey, who works in Philadelphia. Tucker was the original agent on the case, and it has been frustrating for him because the killer has evaded him in every step, but now that the killer has moved on to Philly he is hoping to pass the case over to the lead agent in that office. Tucker, a former SEAL, attended a funeral for one of his team members on his way to Philly and he did not take his death well, because he felt like he did not do enough for him and the first thing he did in Philly as go to the bar to drown his sorrows. Leda has her own history with serial killers and this recent case is bringing up ghosts from her past and triggering her PTSD. She goes out to drown her own sorrows and to find someone to spend time with, and that someone turns out to be Tuc. There was an instant connection and the chemistry between them was smoking hot, since neither shared details about themselves neither knew they would be coworkers until after. It was great to watch these two get to know each other, battle their inner demons, all while navigating a work relationship and trying to solve the case. When the killer makes a move and brings danger right to their door, the team works diligently, trying to track him down and save one of their own. There is never a dull moment in the book, the story is cleverly plotted with the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The world building and character growth and development are fantastic and I loved the developments at the end, which leads to a new and exciting beginning for the characters and series. J.R. Tootill, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 J.R. Tootill chose the perfect cast, Maxine Mitchell, Sebastian York, and a cameo appearance by Joe Arden, to bring her characters and story to life. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. York absolutely nails it as Tucker, grasping every aspect of his personality, from his despair and inner turmoil to his caring and protective side. Mitchell is just as amazing in her role as Leda, showcasing her personality perfectly, from when she battles her inner demons and PTSD, to her fierceness and determination. Arden nails it in his role as Ben, the deranged serial killer, jumping from a nice, soft-spoken guy to a madman in the blink of an eye. They were fabulous performing the voices of all the secondary characters, too. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates the story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

A Five Star 🌟 plus audio book

Great story, well written with great characters.
A wonderful love story with a loving hero and strong heroine.
A story of how two damaged people come together and help each other.
The story helps the listener/ reader gain insight into the effects of trauma and PTSD on individuals, as well as turning a negative into a positive.
The side characters are great too.
Narration is incredible. The duet style is the most natural and draws you in completely. I did not sleep for 2 nights because I was so into the story.
As for the voice actors - brilliant. Sebastian York was the best I have ever heard him and Maxine Mitchell matched him. Joe Arden was also great as creepy Ben.
I really recommend this audio book - one of my best listens of 2024.

Amazing!!!

I LOVED this one!!

This honestly made my criminal minds loving heart really happy.

I consumed this so fast that I didn't want to stop listening. I was so invested in the
story.

I really loved the whole story but I loved most was the journey that Leda went on and learnt to love and accept herself in the end and it was beautiful and the way thst Tuc see that from the beginning.

I listened to audiobook, and OMG IS SO FANTASTIC (yes, this is me shouting)

I love both Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York, but together, it is amazing. In duet. together is magical and one of my favourites 😍

Maxine was the perfect choice for Leda. The way she was sassy and strong and fierce and then so vulnerable is what Maxine mitchell honestly does so perfectly.

Sebastian York really amazed me in this performance with bringing the tough alpha male voice, but the vulnerability he gave in Tuc performance was so incredible.

Joe Arden was such a great choice for Ben he really plays these unhinged characters so well!!

I can't wait for the rest of this series!!

This is what I love!

Bring on the romantic suspense that features a serial killer. Yes, I am that crazy person that loves to delve into the mind of them and just see what is there. This is my first JR Tootill book, and I was all in from the start. Meet Tuc and Leda, the two FBI agents on the case, with Tuc coming to Philly for a funeral an hoping to hand the case over to Leda. But their instant connection had him staying not just to solve the case, but for other reasons as well. Leda is all about finding this killer. A survivor herself, this is triggering so many memories, but it makes her want to solve it even more. The romance is growing, but the danger of this case is coming right to the team. I could not get enough of this book. From the back stories of the characters, dealing with relevant issues, the high suspense and the love story, it just has me wanting the next book! I cannot wait!

Sebastian York and Maxine Mitchell. That is all I have to say to let you know just how good the narration is. The duet style let me know exactly what character is speaking and created the world I could escape into. Add in the Joe Arden narration, and I am sold. He plays his part perfectly. This is an amazing listen!

Dark Romantic Suspense!

This was my first J.R. Tootill's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in The Omega Series, a dark Romantic Suspense. Tuc and Leda's story is entertaining, suspenseful, and captivating. Tuc is handsome, supportive, and protective. Leda is beautiful, enigmatic, smart, and determined. They are both FBI agents. I liked the instant attraction, the slow burn romance, and the sizzling chemistry. The supporting characters are intriguing. The storyline is complex, fast-paced, and enthralling, filled with mystery, action, danger, and twists and turns. The story is told from multiple POV's, which is great. Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York's duet narration is perfection. They are perfect as Tuc and Leda. They did an outstanding job bringing these characters and this story to life. Joe Arden did a great job as Ben. This is a great team author/narrators. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.
