East to listen too and a good storyline

A lovely story about being in Britain during the war. All the women left behind and their lives. The death of Romleys husband brought big changes. Characters were great and so was the narrator. Enjoyable.

Enjoyable story

I did enjoy this very much, I loved all the characters too. I did wish it could’ve gone on, who knows maybe there will be a sequel.

Guilty Pleasure

Whilst Erica James does unfortunately have to be categorised as 'chick lit' if she has to be categorised at all - her books are far superior to the usual run of the mill. This book doesn't disappoint and as an easy listen full of characters whose storylines you are genuinely keen to follow, its spot on. I am always drawn to war time tales and so it gets extra points for that. No it doesn't set the world alight or engage you in burning issues but it'll give you 16 hours enjoyment.

Captivating, Moving and Thoroughly Enjoyable

A wonderful story of lives intertwined, a family apart brought home and wartime. Excellently written. The characters have such depth that you believe that they are real, turns at every step that it is not predictable. I can't wait to get another one of hers.

Jenny Funnells narration is superb, I could listen to her all day, she brings the characters alive.
