Summary
Kai thought he had the best job in the world. Playing VR games for a living. Not if the games are trying to kill you. The Net is the last great frontier, a wilderness of data filled with mysteries beyond imagination. Bugs, a harmless annoyance in earlier decades, have become a deadly menace in times when gamers connect their brains directly to VR.
The Cyber Squad has been created to hunt them down. What used to be game QA in earlier times has become an elite, special force of the future, risking their lives to keep users safe. At first, joining the Cyber Squad seems like a dream job to Kai. He is paid well to be part of the coolest troop the gaming world has ever seen. But soon he discovers that the Net is a way scarier place than anyone would have suspected, and bugs are the smallest problem he and his team will have to face.

Excellent narration
So I read the book and listened to the audible version of Cyber Squad. I have to say, the narrator Zach does a fantastic job of building tension and providing voices for the characters.
For the story - this is one for all the gamers out there. If you've ever played VR and wondered where this tech can go - here is a very realistic and terrifying vision of what may happen in the not too distant future.
It's a fun ride with a lot of twists, turns and monsters!

Entertaining as hell!
This was my first venture into LitRPG and it wasn’t a disappointment!
The story was engaging and the hero was more than relatable as he progressed through it. The narrator did an amazing job, especially with the distorted voices. It really sold the performance. I’ll be back for book 2!

This is a great take on VR. its great fun with lots of action, humour and much, much more. the characters are great as is the world building. it quickly draws you in and keeps you very entertained.
the narration is spot on for this book, I'm so looking forward to book 2.

A more thought-out take on Ready Player One
I'm not usually a fan of LitRPG, but I liked other works by the author, so I gave this a shot.
I'm very, very glad I did!
I liked the LitRPG elements, and the author's flare for action scenes shows through in those parts. However, what really captured my imagination was Mocikat's take on the out-of-game world. I loved their take on a future where technically nobody needs to work, VR is free and UBI exists, and yet lives are reduced to merely existing for a virtual world.
Really interesting take on a not-so-distant future!
Plus, as a software engineer, I could appreciate the plausibility of the VR world. Particularly the day-0 glitches.

fantastic book but one glaring issue
this is a great story I didnt think i would get as into it as I did however it has done the same problem most books do where its stuck a target of the mc's attention in early and keep bringing it up he might aswell live in a different world to this girl they are basicly total strangers and everytime somthing important happens she gets brought up now dont get me wrong I actually like romances when they are well introduced and paced but you could of just as easily had her swoop in and save him like she does at the start him think she's pretty cool and then just not do romance until another book this one is such a great introduction to the world and main character my opinion of him goes down the toilet everytime we get a 5 minute tangent about how he's so into a girl he's spoken to exactly one time. don't let this put you off the book its well worth anyones attention just as someone who has listened to lots of books this is one of those tropes that always feels a bit forced

Fantastic start to a new series
I'm not really into LitRPG books, but this one is very light about such things, It's part of the story not the reason for the story.
Enjoyed the book and it was an easy to follow read.
The narrator was clear and great with the voices and the recording was clear with no sound issues.
Fantastic new world and I'm really looking forward to the next in the series. (part 2 is out now so you'd never guess what I'm listening to next!)

Its sadistic, now that i have to wait for # 2.
No words to describe this review ( I’m truly speechless on this one ) but I’ll try so don’t blame me if it’s too short or not entirely understandable.
When I requested to review this audiobook i have done so without knowing what I’m getting into, usually i first read before requesting , with this one it was the beautiful design on the front that grabbed me and gladly it didn’t disappoint !
The author A. K. Mocikat have created an amazing masterpiece which grabs you right at the beginning and refuses to let you go ( not easily accomplished )
Choosing Zachary Johnson for narration sealed it into a perfection !
I’m keeping it short as i said earlier because there are times that to much is wrong.
All I’m asking and waiting is for the rest to arrive and the sooner the better because if not you’ll give me no coice but to Sue !
This must be sued:
Not one but two teasers,
That was absolutely:
Cruel and unusual
punishment !!!!!!
Absolutely without
A doubt recommended !!
Oded Ostfeld.

Slipped straight into my top 5
Brilliant take on vr from the other side. The world and story really had me hooked, I couldn’t stop listening ! And was slightly depressed when it finished knowing there will be a wait for the next book. Narrator brings it all alive and does a great job with the characters. Can tell there is going to be some interesting twists in the future ! Keep up the excellent work

Excellent
One of the best starts in any book I've listened to here, draws you into the story straight away. Absolutely great job done by the narrator
