Summary
The fifth book in the epic saga of humankind's war of transcendence…
An enemy might just have to become an ally . . . in order to save humankind
The United States of North America is now engaged in a civil war with the Earth Confederation, which wants to yield to the demands of the alien Sh'daar, limit human technology, and become a part of the Sh'daar Galactic Collective. USNA President Koenig believes that surrendering to the Sh'daar will ultimately doom humankind.
But when highly advanced, seemingly godlike aliens appear through an artificial wormhole in the Omega Centauri Cluster 16,000 light years from Earth, President Koenig is faced with a tremendous choice: continue fighting the Sh'daar . . . or ally with them against the newcomers in a final war that will settle the fate of more than one universe.

More padding than a puffa jacket
The story in itself was fine, plenty of action, some entertaining if predictable episodes and lots interesting theories. However I think the author is running out of steam which is a shame. It feels as if the writer has been contracted to write a certain number of words and after finishing it he realised he had only done 3/4 of the required number and so he went back and copy and pasted in repeated explanations of almost every acronym he could find. It got to the point I could almost quote the words and detailed history of the white covenant, as well as CAG and CIC to name but a few. Repeated explanations of events from previous books are understandable but only need to be told once not every time something like the Black Rosette is mentioned. We don't need repeated explanations as to why and how "Sandy" got his nick name. Once is enough ......... I hope you get the picture !

Great Story
This was one of the best books of the StarCarrier series to date. Wonderfully narrated. With enough technical background to keep you up to date on where you were in the time line. and the place. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. thank you..

explanations are getting boaring
They keep re explaining the same thing. I have read the other books I know what a crate does and the ships power point. I also know what the capital human ships look like stop spending pages explaining it again.
