Zum Autor

Der Benediktiner Nikolaus von Kues (1401-1464), auch Cusanus genannt, war nicht nur ein herausragender Kardinal, sondern auch Philosoph, Jurist, Politiker, Mathematiker und Astronom, kurz: das Universalgenie des 15. Jahrhunderts. Seine mystische Theologie ist ein epochaler Meilenstein der Philosophiegeschichte, der in der Weisheit des Mittelalters wurzelt und doch schon in die Moderne weist und so den Boden für Descartes, Spinoza, Leibniz und andere große Denker geebnet hat.
