Summary
He’s everything I’ve ever wanted, at the worst possible moment.
One and done. That’s always been my motto when it comes to guys, because I’m not about to pull someone else into the closet my parents have locked me inside. I’ve been waiting years to claim my inheritance and live the life I want to live–out, free, and, oh yeah, rich.
So why is the universe dropping the sexy farm boy with the lazy smile into my life right now? When Bowen Whitlock says he’ll join my band, and later my bed, I know one time won’t be enough.
But loving Bowen is dangerous for me. And he has his own struggles, like keeping his family afloat and trying not to get fired from his job at Vino and Veritas. But he lives his life with an authenticity that gives me a tantalizing taste of living my truth.
My secret relationship with Bowen is everything, until someone betrays us in the worst possible way....

Sexy M/M Romance
What can I say? I loved this story, I’ve loved all the In Vino Veritas stories that I’ve read, all centring around the bar and the book store, and of course the workforce and family members. Dauntless has Bowen Whitlock doing his best to earn extra money by working the bar, not too successfully, might I add. He’s extremely clumsy behind the bar, not so clumsy behind a drum kit though, as he helps out Chase and his band when they get in a bit of a fix. Needless to say Bowen and Chase end up striking up a relationship, there are however a couple of issues with that. Firstly Chase is not out and proud, he’s very much in the closet, especially when it comes to his family. And secondly both their families are vying for major, so in theory, they’re enemies. Chase and Bowen however have no interest in politics, just each other. But there are forces within the groups that very much don’t want Chase and Bowen together. Super sexy, and at times emotional. Wonderful writing and a cute story narrated by Teddy Hamilton and John Lane - spot on.

This was super!
Bowen and Chase were all-around super, and was the obligatory conflict was brief and well placed. I loved that Denault didn’t shy away from the political ins and outs of the overall plot.
I really wish we could get stories from some of the other characters (Autumn and Matt were giving vibes; and Woody!) but alas…
Teddy Hamilton was, of course, perfect! While I do like John Lane for lots of my audible content… his style didn’t really work here for me. It doesn’t gel with Teddy dearest, or Vermont either. I managed to get past it, but still. Anyways super nice book!
