Summary

The legendary battle-carrier UFS Phoenix is on the run in Outer Neutral Space. Lieutenant Commander Erik Debogande and Major Trace Thakur are determined to use neutral territory to broker a peace between humanity's warring factions, away from Fleet's strong arm. But as machinations in Fleet Command send a legendary warrior from Trace's past on a sworn path to kill her, there arises in the territory of an insectoid foe an ancient enemy from the nightmares of Spiral history, bent on Phoenix's destruction….

That awkward second albam

Not quite up to the first book but still the lighthearted mood of volume one. Sufficient to make me buy volume 3 immediately, so I guess better than the average bear.

incredible, one of the best of this genre.

I've found my new favourite space sci-fi, move over B.V.Larson. It's only the second book in the series but I already know I have no choice but to read the rest. Original, surprising and beautifully read.

excellent story, engaging yet limited narrator

Thoroughly enjoying the adventures of Phoenix, a nice few twists and superb fight descriptions but not quite on the same level as the first book. Narrator has beautiful variation in accents, but has only one speech pattern, but do not let that stop you from enjoying a fun space adventure.

Great Sci-Fi

Clever political sci-fi without the whole universe spanning nonsense of many sci-fi works, I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Better and better!

The series just keep getting better! The more I listened to the book the more I loved it! Until it was impossible to put down! I listen to audiobooks only while driving but this one made me take it home!

The first book in the series gave the impression that there will be much more surprises to unfold in the next book and this second book actually proved that to be true! We learned so much! - at the same time I can feel it is keeping enough secrets even for the third book to be extremely entertaining! Will listen to it without a pause.

The narrator was just perfect!
