Summary

I have had the wonderful privilege of introducing Einstein's theory of relativity to thousands of college students in my Introduction to Philosophy courses at Mt. San Antonio College and in my upper division course on Science and Religion at California State University, Long Beach. Although Einstein's concept is difficult to grasp at first, given enough time and study it becomes easier to understand over time. In this regard, I have always found Hendrik Lorentz's popular introduction to the subject very helpful. It is my hope that all my students (past and future) can benefit from a close hearing of this remarkably insightful text.
