The more we learn about fungi, the less makes sense without them. They can change our minds, heal our bodies and even help us avoid environmental disaster; they are metabolic masters, earth-makers and key players in most of nature's processes. In Entangled Life, Merlin Sheldrake takes us on a mind-altering journey into their spectacular world, and reveals how these extraordinary organisms transform our understanding of our planet and life itself.

Interesting subject, A bit pretentious.

An informative overview of a fascinating subject.
The author / narrator is a bit pretentious and strives to be profound.

Not simply about fungi. Reflections on life

An astonishing achievement. Muses on relationships between species, blurring and enriching our view of the nature of nature.
Erudite, informative, playful, poetic. A mind and soul charger and changer

Beautifully written,Beautifully Read

Sheldrake’s softly spoken narration would be just as at home unfolding a gentle bedtime story if he weren’t so overqualified for the role. He eloquently guides the listener through complex subject matter in such a way that it is easy to understand, absorb and digest, seamlessly weaving patterns of behaviour in nature together and making wonderful reference and metaphor to how many things both fungal in nature and not somehow find balance amongst the seeming chaos and conflict of nature, finding symbiosis and equilibrium in such beautiful ways. The author finds ways of showing the interconnectedness of all these things in such ways that brilliantly reflect the mycelial nature of the world all around us.
A stunning piece you simply must weave yourself through and digest much like the oyster mycelium the author recommends to feed the book to upon completion. Simply wonderful.
