About this listen
A smart, funny, anarchic and gripping memoir from Mark Hoppus, the vocalist, bassist, and founding member of pop-punk band blink-182.
This is a story of what happens when an angst-ridden kid who grew up in the desert experiences his parents' bitter divorce, moves around the country, switches identities from dork to goth to skate punk, and eventually meets his best friend who just so happens to be his musical soulmate.
Bassist, songwriter, and vocalist for renowned pop-punk trailblazers blink-182, Mark Hoppus, tells his story in Fahrenheit-182. A memoir that paints a vivid picture of what it was like to grow up in the 1980s as a latchkey kid hooked on punk rock, skateboards, and MTV; Mark Hoppus shares how he came of age and forms one of the biggest bands of his generation. Threaded through with the very human story of a constant battle with anxiety and Mark's public battle and triumph over cancer, Fahrenheit-182 is a delight for fans and also a funny, smart, and relatable memoir for anyone who has wanted to quit but kept going.

Didn’t want it to end
This book had everything. As a blink/punk fan in my youth, Mark tells you everything you want to know and more. It was funny with moments of real pain and struggle. I could have listened to this for a lot longer. SO good.

Brutal, honest and wonderful
As a lifelong fan of Blink-182 this is quite some journey. The early days are a joy, the struggle and love of the bandmates, the breaking of that is hard to listen to as a fan. Mark is brutally honest in this book, you don't get the glossy version on anything. The end of course is wonderful, victory.
Blink-182 for life.

So flippin good
This is the first earnest Blink story which does not hold back. It’s full of great stories and tales from the road. It goes in deep on the challenges Mark has faced and my only grumble is that it wasn’t longer. I’ll be looking forward to Fahrenheit-182-2

blink-182, forever and always.
As a long time blink fan, it was so interesting hearing about Mark’s life on a personal level, away from the countless hours and hours of interviews I’ve watched on YouTube for nearly 20 years.
I came, I laughed, I cried.

Can’t enjoyed it more
I think I’m a bit biased, I’m a huge Blink-182 fan and by far since I was a kid Mark has been my favourite among that trio. I pick up the bass one day because of him and music is a big part of my life now. This memoir is amazing and couldn’t relate more in some stuff mentioned there. Thanks Mark for telling your story and thanks for your art.

AWESOME
It’s incredible to hear one of my idols open up like this. What a guy. I’m biased, but this really is a brilliant book

Mark being personal
Exactly what an autobiography should be like, personal, honest and fun. A range of emotions read well by Mark himself

Dream memoir for me
I’ve been a Blink and Mark fan most of my life, since discovering them, so was very excited when this got announced.
It doesn’t disappoint.
There are some interesting stories, from his childhood through to all the music, separation from Tom & surviving Stage 4 cancer.
Mark really is one amazing dude, and his narration was engaging. It was good to get some insights into what was happening during the Blink Hiatus, and his thoughts on Tom doing Boxcar and AVA. I personally thought Angels & Airwaves were great, but you cannot top Mark, Tom & Travis on stage together.
The audiobook isn’t super long, but it doesn’t feel short and feels like it covers things in the right level of detail. Mark opens up about some battles with depression, anxiety, insecurity and OCD, which is cool for me, as I struggle a lot with that stuff myself.
I’d highly recommend to anybody who’s a fan.
