Summary
Lily Valance wants to forget the war. She's determined to enjoy the world of the 1920s, with its music, singing, laughter and pleasure.

The effects of ww1 in the 1920's on everyday people.
Thought provoking. wonderful social history of the years after ww1. great story plot . fab book.

Brilliantly written and narrated.
Another brilliant story from Philippa Gregory and Bianco Amato deserves praise too for her excellent performance!
It was a ‘can’t put it down’ story and my only complaint is that it didn’t go on longer!! I would have liked an epilogue to let me hear what happened to the other main characters in the story, but it’s good for my imagination to create my own ‘ending’ beyond the very exciting climax where Philippa left us!!
Keep writing long stories please Ms Gregory!!
