A teenage girl is found murdered, encased in glass.
Detective Dove Milson is called out to a chilling murder scene by the coast. The murder is a replica of the work of a serial killer known as the Glass Doll Murderer, who entombed his victims in glass to watch them die. He would've be the prime suspect, but he's already dead.
The kicker? Dove's own niece was one of the Glass Doll's original victims. When her other niece goes missing, it looks like the copycat killer plans to repeat history in more ways than one. Will she be the next glass doll?
Time is running out. Dove must race to catch a killer before it’s too late. Until a new lead tears a hole in the case....

Twisty plot
Intriguing plot with plenty to keep you guessing. I'll certainly listen to the next in the series. Excellent narration too.

twisty turny fabulousness
loved this book, really riveting with lots of of twists and turns, really enjoyed it, can't wait for the next one. loved the narration by the always excellent Zara Ramm

Tenuous
It was definitely engaging and I listened to the end but there were a lot of moments when I jumped out of the story and thought it was outrageously far fetched and tenuous. It also felt like two books crammed into one. It had the grandiosity of gothic horror mixed with the drama of a telenovella. I kinda enjoyed it though.

I couldn't listen to all of this
I'm sorry but this just didn't grab me. The crime itself is ludicrous and the narrative too pedestrian. And who calls a detective Dove? Each time it was mentioned (too frequently) it made me cringe.

Promising start to a new series
This is my first book by this author and it's a cracking police procedural featuring a killer with a very ingenious and unique MO. It is a fast paced, edge of your seat thriller with interesting, well developed characters and a storyline that kept me guessing. It's a great start to a new series and I look forward to listening to the next one.
Excellent narration by Zara Ramm.

Gripping and well crafted on the whole
Gripping and well crafted, although it did feel as if he also was throwing everything at the plot. In reality, should these crimes being committed, the entire country would’ve come to a halt. But hey Ho. Still great fun and recommended.
