Summary
Hacking whiskey has never been so much fun! Find 50 fancy, fresh, and funky ways to use, abuse, and enjoy whiskey.
What if I told you that whiskey is so much more than a gentleman's after-dinner drink? What if you could create brand new cocktails, four-course meals, and even helpful life hacks with whiskey? This is not your grandpa's pour of whiskey.
Whiskey, scotch, bourbon, and rye are revived through unconventional, interesting, and innovative means. In my book, I will show you how to consume and utilize whiskey in ways you may have never even imagined. This book will bring new life to your usual whiskey drink.
Transform the way you think about whiskey!
Whiskey has easily always been my drink of choice. Whether I was enjoying a scotch on the rocks or spicy rye, neat, I knew what I was looking for in a relaxing beverage. My father introduced me to the ways and means of traditional whiskey consumption over 20 years ago, and I have been in love with this drink, ever since. I even worked as a bartender for years, studying the ins and outs of mixology, earning my city's "Best Local Bartender" in just my second year!
I have experimented with whiskey in its various forms - whiskey, bourbon, rye, scotch, and brandy - to innovate the way that whiskey can be transformed to elevate the experience. You will learn about fat-washing, blending, smoking, flavor infusions, delicious recipes, and so much more!
You'll learn ways to use and change whiskey to create something new and exciting. In my book, I share with you the ways that whiskey can be morphed into so much more than a simple alcoholic indulgence.
You will learn:
- How whiskey has been traditionally tasted and consumed
- What whiskey is all about
- The various forms of whiskey
- New and weird ways to change traditional whiskey cocktails
- Unusual ways to give whiskey a unique new taste, including fat-washing, smoking, and infusing various flavors
- How to pair whiskey with food - in a traditional and nontraditional way
- How to use whiskey in meals - even breakfast!
- Over 20 recipes for new cocktails, meals, and improvements to food using whiskey
- Economical household life hacks using whiskey, including making hand sanitizer and an antibacterial surface cleaner
My book shows you where the journey of whiskey began and how those who developed whiskey at first used it. We also have a look at the types of whiskey, their origins, and the contents of each whiskey type. We go further to profile the taste and smell of each whiskey and even categorize whiskeys based on brands. You will be a whiskey expert by the end of this book.
We also examine more modern ways of enjoying whiskey. I outline many weird whiskey cocktail recipes, weird ways to smoke whiskey, and ways to improve traditionally known cocktails.
Lastly we find new ways to use whiskey, besides drinking. We try to explore the ways we can utilize whiskey as a cleaning agent, a disinfectant, and also as a fuel.

So-so
If you're new to whiskey you'll learn a thing or two but there are a lot of sections that are just misleading or entirely false information (e.g. bourbon is made from 100% corn only, tennessee whiskey is corn bourbon, whiskey has the most alcohol of all alcoholic products: 60-80% abv etc.). Double check your sources on this one :)
