Enjoyed this, struggled with some of the narration

Really good book, enjoyed the story. Most of the narration is excellent. However I couldn't understand what Mason Verger was saying and found this very offputting. The rest of the book was good enough to make me stick with it, but it was a bit of a shame.

Twists and turns all through. A surprising end.

I'm not going to give spoilers. I will say that if you've seen the movie then you haven't got to the end of the story. Surprises abound in this, the last of, the Hannibal Lector tale.

The voice of Mason destroyed the whole experience.

Why did the narrator have to mimic Mason's lipless voice? I couldn't understand a word and it eventually became so annoying. We buy audio books for hands-free on the go listening. Defeats the purpose when I had to buy the hardcopy of the book to read Mason's words. Story is spellbound interesting but the narrator kills the joy effectively.

Harrowing and beautiful

Once again the writing of Thomas Harris leaves me stunned.
I thought the narration matched the tone of the prose perfectly.
The monster that is Mason Verger left me chilled and saddened. But that I could write something as moving.

Excellent

Excellent end to the trilogy, very good narration, except some of the speech from Mason. Which at times was very difficult to understand.
Overall a very good performance.

excellent book and VERY impressive performance

this is one of my favourite books of all time. if you like red Dragon and silence of the lambs you will enjoy it too.

the reading of this book was absolutely immaculate. I've actually always struggled to imagine some of the voices of the book. But this captured them perfectly.

Reader is overdoing it which is tedious 2 listen 2

One of the characters in the book has no lips and the reader has decided to read as if they had neither teeth, not lips, nor a tongue. As much as I appreciate the reader making it refreshing to change his voices to match different characters this is just tedious! at times it's hard to understand which is the least you want when you're listening to an audio book. it's gotten so far that I've been dreading every paragraph in the book where this character will be appearing. Such a shame!!! it almost ruined the whole book for me!!

Great Book

Great book to listen to. As stated in other reviews the narrator may be a bit too enthusiastic with his reading of Mason Vergers lines which makes it difficult to understand. The narration is at times too quick, but overall a brilliant third instalment of the Lecter book series

utterly delicious

at times so detailed I wanted to remove my own ears and feed them to the cats..

only let down was narration. accent slipped all over the place ad I missed half of what mason actually says.

Great book if you love the others...
