Summary

Handsome, wealthy Quinn McCallister is the most eligible bachelor on McCallister's Paradise. Making his family's island resort a success is all that matters to this workaholic. Everything changes when he meets the beautiful new massage therapist.

Larissa Benner may have survived cancer, but its aftermath left plenty of problems besides the ever-looming fear of relapse. Her family nearly went bankrupt paying for her previous treatment. She desperately needs the full-time therapist position on the island and the benefits that come with it. The last thing she wants is problems with her boss, or a complicated office romance.

It's hard for her to resist Quinn's charms -- or his passionate side. However, Quinn is married to his job. The choice between love and work is tough for him to juggle and has Larissa scared. If the cancer recurs, would he leave her to face it alone?

A story about the journey to self-discovery & love

There are some stories where you can experience the author's personal passion for a subject that goes beyond the usual. This is one such story.

Larissa is a breast cancer survivor. She and her family have sacrificed a lot for her recovery and now she is cancer free and facing the prospect of a full time job with medical benefits that buffer against any future relapses. Except her boss propositions her in a way that poses a moral dilemma and makes her question her choices. Larissa, being a survivor, chooses the moral high road and luckily ends up with her dream job at McCallister's Paradise and her dream date.

Unfortunately life isn't as simple as that. Quinn McCallister has his own demons to face and choices to make. Larissa is a supportive partner until disaster threatens. Quinn has to chose between Larissa and his work. Does he have the wherewithal to match her strength and be her lover in the true sense of the word?

This story takes the audience on their journey. It is funny, sweet, passionate and real. Chad C Martin does a great job of narrating the story and giving voice to the subtle nuances of each character. I look forward to hearing/reading more books from Chantel Rhondeau.
