Herta Tanner moves in with Krista Zwitzer, who is still on sick leave. She also agrees to help Priscilla St. John with the latter’s garden. Reikert is banished from Tielen for life while Danarius gets a banishment of ten Tiel years. A new head of house, Turan, will be appointed at the next Mabon meeting. Herta finds a contractor, Walther Greig, who is willing to put a rush on building her a new house.

Reikert is settled with Priscilla and Herr Stude has rescued the boxes of histories from the University of Munich and John.

Reikert proves to be a difficult patient but eventually agrees to an armed truce with Priscilla.

John Ahmdel corners Herta several times over the next few weeks, demanding to know the translated version of the papers. Herta balks and even the townspeople and Turan tell him to go away.

A barbecue with both Tiel and human participants is planned and gets off to a rocky start. Once people start talking to each other, things smooth out.

Herta and Turan agree to trust the other more and work with Krista to start up an apprenticeship program for the Tiel. Herta asks Reikert for help and is turned down. Herr Stude says the estate can help financially, but the paperwork must be done first.

Kyria is recruited to help PTSD clients with handling their triggers. Dax is reconciled with his soul-mate before the latter dies. Herta finds information on Dax’s brother, who may be related to Priscilla.

Diesel gets a job as a night clerk at the gasthof.

Father Edmund suggests a house-warming party once the new house is finished. Herta reluctantly agrees. Once the house is finished, Herta moves in with the help of her friends.

At the end of the house-warming party, Rae-Lynne, Herta’s sister, arrives. Reikert charms her into sleep and those remaining discuss the new developments. They finally agree to sleep on it for a night and see what Rae-Lynne has to say for herself in the morning.
