Summary

“Sam was brushing her hair when the girl in the mirror put down the hairbrush, smiled, and said, "We don't love you anymore." So began the Twitter Audio project, with a dazzling first line penned by New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman. What followed was an epic tale of imaginary lands, magical objects, haunting melodies, plucky sidekicks, menacing villains, and much more.

From mystical blue roses to enchanted mirrors to pesky puppets, this classic fable was born from the collective creativity of more than one hundred contributors via the social network Twitter.com in a groundbreaking literary experiment. Together, virtual strangers crafted a rollicking story of a young girl’s journey with love, forgiveness, and acceptance.

Interesting.

The very start freaked me which is why I took so long to finish it. I found it interesting and wondering how often we do this to ourselves?

obviously beautiful but very sentimental.

it's short and cute. kid appropriate.
similar in feeling to Caroline ( which I love)
but you need to be in the mood for "too sweet"

Typical Neil Gaiman

It's well read, characters were fun. TYA really, but entertaining for any age. I liked the way the ending kept you guessing.

A Modern Classic

A modern classic that has notes and aromas from past classics. N.G never fails to feed the mind on wonder and thought.

Hearts, Keys, and puppetry ✌🏻

Yet another very awesome book by my now, very favourite author.
He's from my home town which makes my appraisal etc of what I've listened too (a motorcycle accident on March 1st 1991 courtesy of a drunk driver hitting me and my motorcycle late night with 2 paralysed arms and partial neck paralysis at 19. I so very much wanted to write and more importantly, read books but my disability and the lack of using my hand(S) to turn pages was virtually impossible. As technology moves on, I was introduced to Audible.
I can now get to listen (read) books again!!! My world has opened up again with a Titan sized thank you very much to Audible and Neil Gaiman!!! By the way, if anyone's reading my appraisal, I'm typing with a capacitive stick in my mouth.
I have to say that apart from American Gods, this was almost magical, enthralling a read. I've now thankfully downloaded via this app nearly all of Neil Gaiman's books available in Audible - THIS is a MUST listen/read. Neil Gaiman NEVER FAILS to whisk you and your imagination away to fantastical places and people etc. Please do yourself a very big favour and submerse yourself into this book ~ absolutely fantastic and awesome!!!!
Very best wishes to you all. Vaughan ✌🏻

struggled with the narration

I enjoy most Gaiman. However, although I think there's maybe a decent story here, I did not enjoy this one as much as expected. it was a bit of a slog to get through, in part because, subjectively, I didn't gel with the narrators style.

Listen to a sample first and don't commit unless you like what you hear.
