About this listen
When your eyes land on a complete stranger on the train, and the world around you stops. When the stranger says hello, and your heart stops, too.
When the universe answers your prayers and he's there, next day, on the train. A man so powerful—brooding with darkness and secrets.
I knew there was going to be more. I wanted more.
When the stranger is reading one of your favorite novels, and you're reading one of his. When you're in such a flutter that you drop your treasured bookmark, and the stranger returns it next day. When you think the universe can't be any kinder, but it truly delivers the jackpot of all jackpots and two opposite worlds collide, as though it was meant to be.
Only it could never be so easy, could it?
Goodbye, stranger . . . Hello, Dr. Hall.
Contains mature themes.

Story dealing with something everyone faces
I’m in a book club, gave this a go and was impressed with the story and subject matter.
This story deals with the grief and also the frustration of dying relationships. The quiet frustration when a longterm relationship ebbs. And also the when a relationship starts, dealing with life getting in the way of priorities and being overwhelmed by the everything all at once. The reality of balancing a potential partner, the looming reality of loosing a loved one and the powerlessness of grief. These are all things no one ever wants to address. The intense love and intense grief has been touched on quite well. The female narrator was good. The male narrator is ok in other books I’ve listened to but I definitely feel he was miscast for this character. Someone with a similar sound and lilt of Shane Easton would’ve been better suited.

Well, that wasn't what I was expecting!
I've listened to quite a few of Jade's aidiobooks, and have enjoyed their usual steamy storylines! However, this book is not like any of these, it's a.lovely storyline, but very sad and left me feeling tearful.at the end. The story synopsis on audible didn't give me any idea of this storyline, one which could be very upsetting for some.

Bit too depressing
Really struggled to finish this, it got all too depressing unfortunately. There wasn't really a warning about the very serious subject matter.

Wow, that was depressing!
I can't say I enjoyed it, but I did feel it. My only criticism is that the narrators were wrong and that spoilt it for me.

A BEAUTIFULLY MOVING STORY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was so brilliantly written. Sad, but held so much joy at the same time.
The story deals with navigating grief, loss, and finding the joy in 'today'.
Great narration too. I would recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

TW: Family loss
I really enjoyed the story. felt very heart warming and heart breaking at the same time.
I feel the FMC could have been narrated by someone else. she is supposed to be 21/22 but sounds a lot older

First to make me cry
I'd hadn't came across a book yet that had moved me so much to tears. The ending of this love story is a sad but happy one. Everything flowed and the story grabbed me hard. Definitely going to reread in the future

too depressing
2,5 ⭐️ i didn't know that JW did vanilla but that is what this one is. Despite really liking her writing style and admiting this book is well written, I've to coffess i detested it. It's too slow, too depressing, the slow burn doesn't have that delicious tension and yearning that i love, and the ending wasn't for me either.
The narration was really well done and the best part of this.
Included on KU and + catalogue audible.
