Summary

Audra has finally left her abusive husband. She's taken the family car, and her young children, Sean and Louise, are buckled up in the back. This is their chance for a fresh start.

She keeps to the country roads to avoid attention and finds herself on an empty road in the Arizona desert, far from home. Looking for a safe place to stay for the night, she spots something in her rearview mirror. A police car is following her, and the lights are flickering. Blue and red.

As Audra pulls over, she is intensely aware of how isolated they are. Her perfect escape is about to turn into a nightmare beyond her imagining....

Dark secrets and a breathtaking race to reveal the truth lie at the heart of this enthralling thriller.

Excellent!

The best audio book by far! The narrator was very easy to listen to in spite of my dislike of harsh American accents. She was perfect for the characters. I hope to hear her more often. The story kept me gripped.

Great book.

Strong, gripping story line but a subject we don't like to think could happen.

BRILLIANT STORY & WRITING

Tense, dramatic a real edge of your nerves listen... a “100% must do” book that had you thinking storylines that didn’t materialise, which was a plus for me!
Only minor negative was the mundane unnecessarily sympathetic narration which at times grated on me but not enough to affect my enjoyment of the writing!

The Best Audio Book I Have Ever Listened To!!!

An absolute roller coaster of a read. Had me totally gripped and I just couldn’t stop listening. At first I wasn’t sure about the narration, however Abby Craden really made this story come alive with her very clever use of her voice for each character. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I didn’t want it to end!!

6 stars! Suberb!

This story is not what is to be expected from the description. A twist came early (much better than the usual cliched twists). I can say no more about it without giving spoilers. Suffice to say, I could not stop listening. The characters, dialogue, places and circumstances are exceptionally well written, and the narration may be the best I have ever heard (and I am not usually keen on American female narrators, as I find they are often nasal and high pitched). It's a wonderful book for anyone who enjoys crime fiction. My recommendation? Just buy it!

Wish there were more good audio books like this.

What a rollercoaster of a book. Very good but would like more of an ending well revenge really. Highly recommend this book.

The stars say it all!

A book of many strands. The narrator brings to it, the gravity and tone required for such a horrifying but believable topic.
