Summary
Clay: I’m an assassin, and I’m not ashamed of it. I’m good at what I do, and the people I kill deserve it. One more contract, one more hunt, one more kill. To be honest, it’s getting old. Until this latest job. Suddenly there’s someone between me and my target. What’s worse is he gets the better of me, twice! He’s a problem I’ve never had before...and maybe even more.
Elliot: After years in the Marines, and playing personal bodyguard, I thought I’d seen it all. An assassin coming after the philanthropist I’m paid to protect was a surprise, but not really a shock. The shock came later. The assassin is a killer with the most beautiful eyes, and damn it, I even trust him...and more.
Clay is paid to kill, Elliot is paid to protect...the same person. The two men stand no chance together. But things aren’t always what they seem. As Fate conspires to change the rules of the game, will she change the inevitable outcome?

A fascinating story
I already know some audiobooks by Romeo Alexander and I like them all very much. But I almost think that “Hit or Miss, to Kill or Kiss” is my favorite book so far. The story is very well written – I love the author’s writing style.
But the story is a little different from the one I’ve known so far. Romeo Alexander absolutely surprised me with this book and in a positive way. You get to know Elliot and Clay and they’re like the two sides of a coin. While one became a bodyguard after the military, the other became an assassin. What they do not know at the time of their first meeting is the fact that they have a common target. Elliot and Clay happen to meet and I really liked the character development of Clay and Elliot. I can’t say who I’ve closed more into my heart, but I was absolutely enthusiastic about both.
You can feel the connection between the two when you listen to the audiobook, and I really liked the way they slowly get closer and fall in love with each other. I was completely captivated and I was trembling, feverish and hoping along with Elliot and Clay.
The narrator Keith Smith has done an excellent job. He brings life to the characters and lets the listener share in the emotions.
I can give you an absolute recommendation! And I really need to get the first volume

A great little mystery
Both the author and the narrator are new to me, but I thought I’d give it a go. Really enjoyed both. Not too long but didn’t feel rushed either. Quite a nice twist in the story too.

Adored this one
I’ve had the pleasure of listening to a lot of Romeo’s stories turned Audiobooks, and this one has to be my favourite so far!
It’s different than the other stories of his I’ve read or listened to. The characters in this one seemed to connect so much and their chemistry was off the charts. Their unique situations and their chance meeting before they met again down the road really blew things out of the water for Elliot.
How seamlessly they came together and fell in love was beautiful.
I loved Clay the most as a character because he was already so redeemable, it wasn’t just love that changed him. Though that helped too.
The narration was excellent! Keith brought life to the characters, passion to all the high emotion moments and individuality to all the characters. I look forward to love from him!

lovely story with interesting protagonists
The blurb made me curious about this audio book. It was my first book of this author.
The book can be read without knowledge of the other books in this series "Heroes of Port Dale", but the plot really got me and I'm looking forward to read/listen the other parts of the series.
Right from the beginning it was easy to get into the story. Very soon you get to know the two main characters Clay and Elliot. From the start their differences and similarities are clearly visible. Elliot pays attention to his structures and Clay to his principles. They slowly get to know each other and I could feel the emotions and sparks between them. Even if this sounds quite romantic, the plot and the character development is the main content. Both protagonists are challenged to question their choices and to embrace change.
The storyline itself captivated me and I was curious to see how Elliot and Clay develop. I liked the writing very much, the author has a talent for revisiting single scenes of the story and connect them. It's one of those books that leaves you with a smile on your face. I am looking forward to read more books from this author.
The narrator Keith Smith knows how to transport the tension and to emphasize the emotions. His voice is a very good cast for this series.
Four books have already been published, at the moment the first two are available as audio book.

An assassin and a bodyguard...
What would you do when your client’s assassin hits on you? This is a plot I hadn’t read of. I liked it and the author makes it work. A protector and a paid killer make up a one of a kind relationship. I enjoyed listening!!
