Summary
A Stylist must-read & a Red Magazine Best Book of 2018.
'Turning 30 is like playing musical chairs. The music stops, and everyone just marries whoever they happen to be sitting on.'
Who the f*ck is Tori Bailey?
There's no doubt that Tori is winning the game of life. She's inspired millions of women to stick two fingers up at convention with her best-selling memoir, and she has the perfect relationship to boot.
But Tori Bailey has been living a lie.
Everyone around her is getting married and having babies, but her long-term boyfriend won't even talk about getting engaged. And when her best friend Dee - her plus one, the only person who understands the madness - falls in love, suddenly Tori's in terrifying danger of being left behind.
When the world tells you to be one thing and turning 30 brings with it a loud ticking clock, it takes courage to walk your own path.
It's time for Tori to practice what she's preached, but the question is: is she brave enough?
The debut adult novel by best-selling author Holly Bourne is a blisteringly funny, honest and moving exploration of love, friendship and navigating the emotional rollercoaster of your 30s.

Life dominated by likes
This book is remarkable in its portrayal of a character who’s life only counts if it gets lots of likes and comments and her picture is taken at the right angle. I found it fascinating in its shallowness and sad if people like the lead character actually exist.

Resonated
A relatable and funny book. A little bit agonising waiting for her to wake up and get on with it, but we got there. Have recommended to lots of friends!

Terrific observations of life in your 30s
As a woman in my early 30s, this really hit home for me. The observations about friendship, weddings and social media really hit the nail on the head. There’s a brilliant humour to the voice, which belies the seriousness of some of the themes. The heroine - Tori - is going through an emotional turmoil she doesn’t fully comprehend until the end of the book.
However, the plot that holds these observations together is thin, to say the least, and so, while I flew through this, it hasn’t left a huge impression on me. There are many many snippets of brilliance, loosely hung together on a so-so story.
The reading by Tuppence is brilliant. Very funny and convincing.

Brilliant and Honest.
Loved this book. I love a good honest story with relatable characters. Tori is a brilliant insight into what it's like to be in your 30's and not knowing what the fuck you are doing!

A story of our time
Absolutely enjoyable. Honest and raw, I think Tori put on words some of our shared hidden fears... Truly refreshing.
Great performance.

Relatable, funny and incitive
Some parts were so relatable it hurt. For anyone who was afraid to end a relationship. Anyone who has been 30. Loved every minute. The minutiae of body image issues was spot on and realistic. Narrator was great.

a book of reality and understanding
I wasn't sure if I liked it at first but that realisation that we put so much effort into our social media platforms trying to portray a vision of ourselves, if anything a put less on FB these days and try a live in the moment more . easy listen worth a try.
