A sexy soldier saves a single mom’s life, then offers her and her young son a place to live.

Hot soldier Ryder “Muffin” Hanson didn’t plan on diving into a frigid lake on a freezing day, but finding an unconscious woman in the water leaves him no choice.

Single mom Alaina Montgomery does the best she can to take care of her six-year-old son, working as a cleaner in a women’s crisis center. It doesn’t pay a lot, but it’s enough to keep them going.

Until someone brutally attacks her and leaves her for dead.

Now, Alaina is terrified to be alone and fearful for her son’s safety. When Ryder offers her a place to stay, she can’t refuse. He’ll protect her and her child, plus he’s the kind of man her little boy can look up to. As the feelings between her and Ryder grow, she finally lets herself believe the future looks bright.

But the danger isn’t over yet. Someone is watching and waiting. And when the time is right, they’ll strike again....

A captivating story

I just love this series about Strike Team 2.
This time it's about the Single mom Alaina who Was reacued by the hot soldier Ryder.
The author's writing style is wonderful and very captivating. I love the mix of romance, suspense and action and the great chemistry between the two main protagonists. Once again, this was a book I couldn't put down.
This series has eight volumes. I started with volume eight, Hot Honor, by chance. After that I was hooked on this series and listened to one book after the other from volume one onwards. I already listen to a lot of audiobooks, but I always listened to one volume of this series to reward myself. For me, these were gems that were only taken out on special occasions. Yes, I love books about romantic suspense. But now I'm very sad that this series has come to an end. I didn't know Gregory Salinas before, but he has become one of my favorite narrators through this series.
Gregory Salinas did a great job as always and narrated brilliantly. Lila Winters also narrated great. I loved how both narrators brought across the emotions and personalities of this great story and brought the story to life. Highly recommended!

Excellent narration

This story starts at full speed when Ryder saves the life of a woman he finds unconscious in the water near his home.
It quickly becomes clear that someone attacked her and could still be a threat to her. Ryder's protective instincts immediately kick in and when he finds out she lives in a trailer with her young son he moves them into a cottage where they will be safer.
Things happen fairly quickly in this story. There is one character who is an obvious suspect but at the same time very obviously a red herring. However, without this person injecting some menace and threat to Alaina the story would have been very bland. read. The identity of the real culprit took me by surprise and I enjoyed the suspenseful ending.
The dual narration of this book was excellent.

Ryder & Alaina

This H O T book was sweet but not action packed like previous ones. Ryder was as swoony as all his team mates and Alaina fit right in with the ladies.
Gregory Salinas and Lila Winters ‘s narration was really good.
