An absolute MUST read for anyone struggling with maintaining a healthy weight or caught up in yo-yo dieting fads.
I have not finished the book yet, but I already have 6cm less ‘middle age spread’. Accompanied with the BRILLIANT free app and the how not to diet recipe book I am finally seeing the scales consistently go in the right direction without any sense of going without or experiencing hunger. Dr Greger’s translation of research and debunking of myths makes the science easily understood by my busy mind.
The whole foods recipes are delicious, simple, adaptable and very satisfying.
I have also noticed a significant improvement in energy levels and ease of movement due to the anti inflammatory benefits.

Fact filled and fabulous
I am a nurse in the UK and very interested in health research. This book covers the whole spectrum of challenges faced when losing weight, and how they can best be managed.
Health is the number one priority all through the book and the attention to detail is excellent. Dr. Greger is an animated and interesting narrator and it was a pleasure to listen to him.

Absolutely Brilliant.
Everyone needs to read / listen to this book. I have How not to die, which is amazing, this builds on that. So much essential information, not just for being slim, but for staying alive, and understanding the complexities of how our bodies work, how we are all different ...yet the same, and how to eat properly, forever, in order to never ever fad diet again. All backed up with evidence and fair summaries that, although in depth and scientific - are very easy to grasp and understand. I can not express how valuable this information is - READ IT. Good health.

Great book
this is a great book, if you think you might be interested then just get it. there's a tonne of information here and wherever Dr Gregor bases it on randomised, double blind, placebo controlled trials.

This man needs more recognition!
These books are incredible if suffering as I do. heart failure, COPD and currently on cancer pathway nothing is worse than the waiting on results and day to day struggle. implementing as much of the good doctors common sense checklist into my life has been a great help. not only did I lose 76kg yes 76! over 2 years but also knowing I am helping myself above and beyond the NHS teams support is mainly down to his writtings. swapping out meat and dairy and adding the 17 or so steps and walking or exercise daily yield results fastl and I would not belive it if I personally had not given it my best shot. I did manage to cut out statins and some other meds and have seen improvements from every aspect of my life. As far as I am concerned his books should be turned into compulsory classroom lessons and he should be put forward for a nobel!
And incase you dknt catch it anywhere in his books the man donates his profit to charity. Unlike most others in his field. If you are already ill, overweight, a parent or someone who wants the best for themselves and the children they feed please consider giving yourself the gift of his knowledge or at least check out a few of his YouTube clips.
