Summary

Humble Calvinism is both a helpful summary of what Calvinism is and a helpful challenge to those who are convinced Calvinists. It calls us to hold Calvinism in our hearts, not just in our heads, so that we are humble and gracious, as well as zealous for the truth, to the praise and glory of Christ and his church.

Author Jeff Medders admits that he is quick to defend Calvinism, but often slow to humbly love Christians who take a different view. His warm-hearted, challenging (and surprisingly witty) book takes listeners through the the five points of Calvinism, revealing that a true understanding has a humbling effect on our hearts, fueling a love of Christ and his people that builds others up, rather than tearing them down.

This is so good. So beautiful and humble.

As above. Its read humbly and well, the content is humble but yet a true walk through Calvinism in personal, relatable and biblical terms. My soul is comforted by this and I shared it with some Eastern Orthodox friends sure that if they listen they will see that Calvinism is not a nasty system of spite and fanaticism...but sweet assurance, humility, confidence and a divine calling. The author keeps the focus on Christ and less on winning arguments and youthful tribalistic arguments. I will buy the print copy now, as it is that good and no, you don't need to be a 5 point Calvinist to dig this book.

Really helpful

Thank you! This was really interesting and helpful. I loved the way it was written; direct and informative but with good grace and gentle humour. The personal anecdotes were really helpful.
